Hi everyone

I'm Lauren, I'm an art student at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI. I am doggie deprived here at college but I go home to my pupper in Chicago pretty often. She is a Cavalier/Bichon mix named Maisy (she is in my av). She just turned a year old, growing up sooo fast. I love her to death!

In the past we've had a Golden, a couple Shelties and a mix from the shelter as well. I worked at the humane society for 5 years and I still try to volunteer when I have time, but the humane society here is 1/2 an hour away.

I also worked at the dog groomers last summer and absolutely LOVED it - I'm hoping to go to grooming school here in GR after college. So, dogs have been a big part of my life! Collies and Shelties are my heart dogs and I can't wait till I have a place of my own and I can get my first dog. I'm hoping to get a Collie but we all know how that works, I'll probably end up falling in love with a pound puppy.

Art and rabbits are my other loves, I raised show rabbits for 4 years in high school and miss it sooo much. My personal art can be seen here: L I L D O G D E S I G N S

I do take commissions when I don't have too much homework so if you're interested just give me a PM, but I'll save the rest of that for the sales forum!

Hi Lauren, welcome to Global Paw! Maisy is adorable! It must be pretty hard living away from her, but at least you do get to visit back home often. We've got a number of members here who have collies or shelties, so it'd be worth having a talk to them about adopting one.

I have two dogs, Harley's a 12 year old Jack Russell x Maltese, and Abby's a 7 1/2 year old Chihuahua.

I'll be headed off to college in the fall....luckly Purdue is only 25 mins away from my house! That way I have the privlige of staying with my numerous critters and still going to school...not to mention free room and board. I adopted a Collie/Aussie mix last year...she's in my avatar. Good dog, but she has her moments.
