Newbie Intro
My name is Aimee. I live in Iowa with my husband and infant daughter, two cats, and two dogs. The dogs are 7.5 year old American Staffordshire Terrier, Grant (aka Hartagold Flagrant Foul CD CGC HIC TDI) and 4.5 year old Belgian Malinois, Harry (aka Heretic du Dantero).

Before the husband and baby, we trained in French Ring and Schutzhund while living in Portland, OR. Now with a family in the middle of nowhere, the dogs are just high octane house pets. My husband isn't much of a dog person, and never lived with any until he married me.

I've mostly been involved in the APBT/AmStaf world, but that is coming to a close. It's become a losing battle, and I fear the breed will not be legal to own much longer. I recently just battled a breed ban in my own town. We managed to get them to take the breed specific wording out, but they instead passed an extremely lame law that lists dogs trained for protection. So, I took down all of their bitework pics off my website, and we don't talk about that anymore. It's extremely frustrating when people who know nothing about laws write the laws in regards to them.

So at this point in time, we are just a quiet family in Small Town USA. We hang out at home, and take walks with the dogs and baby. And, that's about it! We are quite boring folks.

Here are some pictures of the boys that I entered in the county fair earlier this month. All three won second place in their respective categories, giving me three red ribbons and money that we spent there on fried food.

Welcome to the site! Your dogs are stunning and your girl is too adorable. That last picture made me laugh.

I know how you feel about the bullies...I love the bred and would love to own one when it is time for me to add another dog, but with all of the BSL laws, I'm unsure how bad that would hinder my situation of trying to find a place to rent. Bleh. BSL sucks. For any breed of dog, not just Pitties.

Welcome to the list...your dogs are gorgeous. I am right there with you regarding dogs.....my favorites are also, I fear, dinosaurs. While I love Rotties and Amstaffs so much, I am tired of people asking "Do they bite" first and foremost. But nothing beats the good sound mind of a working dog. I chose my next breed very carefully in hopes that he will not be lumped into BSL anytime soon, because of their rarity here. I guess we will have to see how that goes.
