Soon to be owned by a Doberman

I am new to this forum and thought I would introduce myself. I am 19 from Sunny CA! I am picking up my new doberman puppy next Sunday. I can hardly wait that long to go get him. I have evil thoughts of going and stealing him before that! Just kidding. I am so excited because I have always wanted a Doberman. I have been glad to see other doberman owners here. I will post LOTS of pictures when I get him so I am sure you all will be tired of me very soon!

I wanted to also say how much I have loved reading all the posts here. I have had questions on everything from getting a puppy to what kind of dog food to get (I spent a good 3 hours last night reading all the post I could find about it last night, goodness!). Its great to have place to come and get help with things I dont know about.

I have no other dogs but I do have 2 rabbits. The are my babbies. I have a male Mini Rex and a female dwarf hotot. He has been fixed so there is no funny business.

Now that I have rambled on for far too long I just wanted to say Hi to everyone and say how excited I am to be a part of this forum!

Welcome to Global Paw!! Where are you getting your new Doberman from? Do you have a name picked out yet? What made you choose this breeder?

I am getting the puppy from a local breeder. I have visited the puppy twice now, so I got to see the puppy and the mother and other doberman she owns. I picked her because, for one, I got a had to answer LOTS of questions, so I know she cares about where her pups go, and she has given me SO much info on the new pup and dobermans in general. Also, her current dobes, the mother of mine and a pup from her past litter (well, like a year now, so not that young) are both beautiful, healthy, and seem like great representations of the breed (granted, my experience with dobes if limited because not many people here have them). I also like having the breeder in the area because if I need anything or have questions it makes it much easier if she is close.

I decided to name the puppy Toby. Hes a black and tan male.

Congrats on your new furbaby, Calibur. I know how exciting it must be and how painful it must be to wait. The day to pick him up will come around soon enough though.

I hope you'll post pictures of your bunnies too. I love rabbits and had a few rex rabbits when I was a kid as well as a couple of mix breeds.

I love Hotot's, there eye liner is so adorable. A few years ago they were on my "If I can't get a dog, I'll get a..." list.

Welcome to you and your boy. Let us know when you get him and maybe you could even post pictures. Have you decided on a name? Your also wondering what dog food to get him. I would keep him what ever the breeder is feeding unless at sometime it no longer agrees with him or when he graduates to adult kibble.
