Red face I just registered yesterday...
This forum is really helpful! All the members are pretty generous
with suggestions... I'm loving it. Oh yeah my name is Esther and I
just got a Cockapoo from a private breeder 3 days ago. She is adorable! For some reason though, she doesn't really look like
a cockapoo, she looks more like a purebreed cocker spaniel.
Nevertheless, she's absolutely precious

Welcome to global paw... I am so happy that you are enjoying it here. Yes people here are very enthusiastic about dogs and offer their opinions freely. You will find lots of good advice here..
The problem with cross breeds is that you have no idea what the resulting puppies will look like. That is the gamble you subject yourself to when buying a mix. And it goes the same for health problems...
What made you decide on a Cockapoo versus a Cocker Spaniel or a Poodle? Someone asked on another thread what the allure was for a mix versus the purebred dog, and I was wondering myself. I would love to know what you think.

Hello and welcome!! Like Novel said mix breeds can never have a set standard appearance as one can never tell which genes are going to be be portrayed whether they be dominant or recessive. In OC's puppy kindergarten class there was a Cockapoo pup who looked exactly like a purebred Cocker Spaniel (fur colour, texture, build, etc) except she had the muzzle of a poodle.

Welcome! Your pup is very pretty! I agree that she does look like a purebred cocker. In any of the "poo" & "doodle" mixes there can be a wide range of appearance with some having alot of the poodle looks and others hardly noticeable. But that doesn't make them any less sweeter!
