Talking Hi everyone

Hello to everyone!

This is such a neat website and very interesting to read when you have tons of time. I am a proud owner of two yorkies that have turned 1 years old just recently. They are named Bobo and Jojo. They are the best thing that has ever happend to me, can you tell im a total dog lover. They are my little angels , well sometimes.

I dont know what their problems are sometimes, but they love to eat everything in site. Especially wood. They are my little termites. They love to eat the bottom part of the wall fixtures that are made of wood. And just recently they started to eat my leather sofa. I give them greenie bones everyday and so im wondering why are they doing this??? Any input from anyone would be greatly appreciated. They are not left home alone for long, we just leave them for 30 min and they will chew something up. They are spoiled rotten, so they never should feel neglected because we dont ever ignore them. I love them to death but this is really getting crazy.

Hello and welcome!

Sounds like your little termites could use a little work on that habit....my pup could as well! Please feel free to post the issue in our behavior and training area and I'm sure many of our members could give you some excellent advice.

You can buy bitter apple spray at Petsmart...first give them a taste, then spray it on the things you don't want them to chew. It should work...some dogs like the way it tastes though.

My Yorkie girls, Zada 8 months and Azrael, 7 months on the 16th will eat the clumps of grass that fall off the mower, wood chips, mushrooms, (not the good kind either) bugs & spiders, and peanut shells the birds drop, among other things they find outside if I don't get to it before they do. I follow them around like a hawk because of this. I am hoping this is just a learning thing and that they will eventually lose interest, because taking them for walks is a nighmare sometimes. If you run across anything that can explain this in any book, let me know and I will do the same.

Hi! Welcome. If you post your question about your Termite Yorkie in the Training and Behavior forum, you'll get lots more suggestions about how to help. Yorkie Cozy says hi to Jojo and Bobo.

Welcome to global paw!! Bitter Apple spray works great but beware as some dogs actually LIKE the taste.
