Just saying hi to everybody. New to this, so be patient. I have a small problem if anybody has ideas. 1.5 yr old female unspayed long-hair Daschund whines constantly. She does not bark except on very rare occasions. Whining has me going

Hello and welcome!! First of all, I would rule out any possibility of it being a physical thing, that she is in pain. It may not be something exterior that you can see so a check up from the vet is a great idea. Does she stop whenm you start giving her attention? If so then that's all she's doing, whining for attention because she knows soon enough you'll give it to her. What you're going to have to do if this is the case is ignore her until she stops whining and then give her attention as reward for stopping. When ignoring don't even look at her! IF you can't stand it lock her in a seperate room until she stops. The key is not to give her attention while she is whining because that is what will reward the behaviour.
