Smile Greetings from Alaska!
Just a quick hello from the Arctic. I've had all different breeds of dogs during my life, but since I've lived in Alaska I've become well aquainted with alaskan huskies. My goal was to put together a small recreational team of dogs from established kennels. For me, putting together a team of dogs that racers didn't want anymore because they were a little "too old" or slow and thus were "unwanted" was more meaningful and satisfying than having a high end race team. And so, over the past several years we've had fun together. Now, I mainly provide them a good retirement -- sort of a canine senior center! My main focus has always been dog care and to provide a really nice life for these guys. I'm fortunate to have access to some great vets up here but also like to get input from others when it comes to canine health issues. We've had to deal with some critical illnesses at this small kennel. I found this website when researching hemangiosarcoma - a very scary cancer. Thanks for welcoming me here and for your input. RLK
