Art Class #2 - Watercolour & Pen

Hi everyone,
I know its early in feb but just thought I should let you know what you will need if you want to take part in the pen and wash sketching I wanted to share with you all.
Cass has done such a great job of explaining art basics that I thought you all might like to do a picture of your own pet..

To do this you will need a good picture of your pets face.
a soft pencil I like 4b
an artline fine pen
2 watercolours..... this depends on colour of oyur animal lol so when you show me pics i will help you with colours.

a cheap piece of watercolour paper

here is an example of pen and wash and this is the first one this girl ever did. She is a friend of mine who has never used watercolours before and although arty doesnt paint

this was achieved in just over an hour.
So please join me in march and lets have fun painting

Fantastic idea for a class Linnie..I'm definately in! This (as people already know) is my favourite picture of Jesse. I'd love to paint him.

Cass.

barrett the absolutely hardest colour dog to paint is black lol
you need cobolt blue and raw sienna it seems more natural
barrett I like the second one the eyes are lovely in it

Cass you meanie, jessie is sooo cute and you will have to use a background wash but you have watercolours dont you??

Remember the one you do with me will be a draft for the one you do as a finished product to keep for yourself

I am going to try to draw along with each person if I can and post to help you see the steps ( mind I only said try too )

Yeppers, I have WCs. I'm worried about all the fiddly hairs though. LOL No way to get around it. I looked hard for a picture that didn't have 'long hair' but since he's a long coat Chihuahua I guess that was kind of a waste of energy on my part.

Cass.

Linnie,
I want to do one of these pictures for my first water color instead. I am worried about doing Bailey's black fur. What paint color would you recommend for these?
