A few sketches I did today.

Here are 3 sketches I did yesterday and today. I have been in the drawing mood lately -- one because I'm trying to keep my mind off of waiting for the AC officer to show up!

This first one is an American Pit Bull Terrier. I drew this yesterday.

The second one is supposed to be a brindle Bull Terrier, but I'm not too hot on doing the brindle markings. Was also a bit of a difficult picture to draw... if you can't tell.

And the last one is my favorite, a white Bull Terrier. Probably one of the more simpler ones. Heh... The nose was the hardest part.

These looks much better in person. My scanner lightened them up a bit, so the shading looks off, and doesn't show up in some areas.

Nicely done Sarah!

To get away without doing the brindling...you can just make the fur REALLY dark, almost black. LOL Then say..."Well, the brindle only shows up in the sun".

Great drawings though, keep it up.

I'd like to see more.

Thanks everyone!

I need to get a pencil specifically for shading. That was done with a regular #2 pencil.

I'm going to do a couple more soon. Either today or tomorrow. I'm awfully tired today and I may take a nap.

But thanks again! I love to draw --- it just keeps me occupied and I don't like leaving a drawing unfinished, so I'm at it till it's done!

You can draw and shade with your #2 pencil.

Just do it in layers. Use paper that has a bit of "tooth" (ie: is rough) and slowly add layers of shading until you get the darkness/tone you wanted.

I was using just regular computer paper. I used to have a sketch book. I don't know whatever happened to it.

It's odd, because some days I can draw so easily, and other days I can't draw for anything! LOL Thanks for the tip. I've been skimming through your art classes, but haven't gotten through the first lesson just yet. Will read more on it tomorrow!
