Hmmm...dark pups are difficult. And the position the pup is in makes it even more so.
I'd make the muzzle a little more narrow and the nose a little larger. I'd also lower the shoulder so it's not right up against the jaw and the make the hip lower, even if you have to eliminate the bottom of the two back legs. Perhaps make that area (the one from the shoulder and between the front and back legs) a little darker so that attention is directed away from it. Do you have a reference photo for this? Cass. |

Make the base of the ears visible... I mean where they join onto the head. Puppies are so difficult when they're young, they just look like furry tennis balls.
It's looking great, what medium are you using? Pastel? |

I think the nose is what is throwing it off, I would either make it less broad and longer (like a lab, more working dog) or make it a little taller (up and down, like a rottie or other bully breed)

Linnie- you’re off to a good start and I like the concept but try paying more attention to your proportions. The forshorting in the picture looks off and I think that's what makes the picture maybe not look so realistic. You might try studying the proportions of hands and how the fingers and thumb relate in size, even when put into different positions. I think the colors are fine and the shading looks ok, to me its hand (thumb area) where the forshorting isn't right and the proportions are off the most. Good luck!
