Talking Drawing

My dad is an artist, so i ended up drawing ever since i was really little. I drew horses for a long time, but ever since my horse died, i havent wanted to draw horses lately. But, last night, i had a huge urge to draw, so, i decided to draw a dog! Ive drawn dogs before, but i never really completely tried, i would just sketch out a dog's head or something. I ended up deciding on a German Shepherd, i dont know exactly why. Probably because of their unique stack. Anyway, i wanted to see if anyone found anything wrong with it, just to help me learn to draw dogs better.

I know the back leg is kind of messed up. I drew this all with Sharpie, so i wasnt able to fix it very good. I think the ears kind of look weird, too, but i wasnt sure what was wrong, it might just be because im used to big, floppy ears. I did shade and put in markings a little bit, but i ended up doing with pencil so that i wouldnt ruin my drawing, so you cant see them very good.

I also have pictures of my best horse drawings, if anyone wants to see them.

Nicely done. I'd love to see your horse drawings (or any other drawings you have). What paper did you use?

Cass.

Thanks! Ok, here are my horse drawings:

Friesian

Kiger Mustang

Kiger Mustang Foal

Indian Pony

I have a lot more than that, but those are the main good ones. Sorry for the blurry-ness, i used my digital camera to take a picture of them because i dont have a scanner.

I use whatever drawing paper i can get my hands on, right now i use some really thick paper by Mead. Its 11" x 8 1/2" and 27.9 cm x 21.5 cm. It is Acid-free and Lignin-free, Heavyweight, and Archival Quality paper. Thats what it says on the cover. I think we got it at Wal-Mart.

Thank you! Not as good as my dad's, of course, but he draws and paints for a living, so he has to be good.

Thank you! That one is one of my favorite horse drawing that ive done. I think the only think i wouldve rather done is made the reins a little tighter, to reinforce the idea of the horse curving his neck.
