finishing pastel of Buster
The last part of finishing your picture is to create light and depth to it. This is done by shading with colours and smoothing with your fingers
Be a lttle adventurous and use colours you think you can see, I have put a lot of pink and blue into Buster. At this stage you need to stand back and look then keep repeating the process till you feel happy with the depth. to bring a part of the face forward use warm colours and to make it recede use cool colours. White is great to use as finishing colour to bring a shine and also to make the eyes come alive they need their twinkle Here is Buster finished. I hope you had fun drawing your dogs and if I can help in any way please just ask. linnie ![]() |

Thanks so much for putting in the time and effort to show us how to use pastels. I keep meaning to go out and buy some coloured ones. I can't wait to get started! |
