Aria you should definately keep at it you have good form for art.
How about trying a soft pencil and smudging with your fingers to get a little depth.
Or better still try soft pastels they are great.
I bought a heap of art books from a secondhand dealer, its a great way to learn new things.
I think your art is lovely

I do have blending stumps, art books, and B and H art pencils. I don't smudge much, because I like detail. I mostly smudge water and stuff like cups and glass. I have about 4 large art books for traditional graphite, each costing from $20-$50. Man, are they expensive!

I've never got into pastels really - right now I'm trying to figure charcoal out. After that I want to get into paints. I tried watercolors once, but...

Great that you have some good gear to work with
Watercolour is my main medium I like to work with, takes a little while but well worth the effort.
