Sorry so late responding Briarlow have had a lot on my plate latlely.
I would honestly say I have no natural talent its all learned and lots of practice. I would say the main thing is to start seeing things broken down in shapes a lot of people will do a drawing upside down to make it easier.You are more or less filling in each shape vs trying to draw the entire subject if that makes sense? Then I would google negative drawing ( creating light areas vs drawing them in or erasing them out )as well as gridding ( to transfer your outline or sketch to a working surface) here is a side by side of an old dog drawing and the one here ![]() |
