Our Animal Art
I thought it would be cool to have a thread where people could post their dog art (please feel free to move it if another forum is more appropriate).
However I decided to include all animals, since I know I enjoy drawing other animals as well as dogs.. sometimes even more. So here we are, a place for ALL animal art. Any medium is allowed (graphite, coloured pencil, pastel, watercolour, oils, acrylics, digital art -including digital manipulated photos-, sculpture -I'll include dog kennels and beds in this since I know there are some doggie people who love to create ornate homes for their furbabies-, sewing -including homemade collars, blankets, jackets and such if you've been creative in that area-, scrapbooking pages, crayons, maccaroni-Hehehehe!, finger paints etc...) except photography, because we already have a great gallery for that . I'd love to see people with written art here as well, poems & stories (fiction only). There's something for everyone (I hope). Please participate, don't feel shy... we're all friends and I know that no one is going to bag your work (even if you don't think it's up to scratch). I'd love this thread to be a place for people to lash out creativly and show how much they love their pets (and animals in general). So come on! Draw us a piccy, sew us a blanket, get more creative with that pasta...what ever floats ya boat. They don't have to be finished masters... even rough sketches will be great. Don't forget to tell us what medium it is and what materials (paper etc.) you used. Oh and Linnie.... this is your fault. You motivated me to start this thread... so don't forget to show off more of your paintings. Cass. Just to start us off, here's a sketch on Canson black paper with white pastel that I did tonight. ![]() Okay... so who's next??? ![]() |

Oooohh fun!! A place for animal art!!! I wanna share too!!!!!
This one is really old.... It's of mine and my husband's old bulldog (passed on a couple of years ago) Lulu. It's pencil and paper: This is of Jack, the retired greyhound I took care of at the vet office I worked at. It's colored and regular pencil: The next two were projects in my college art class... Made from wood and acrylic paint: |

Well, like I posted on the other thread, I have absolutely no talent for traditional art!!! LOL
I will, however, mess around with Cragar's pictures in Photoshop: I have taken some of his photos, made them black and white, then made nice 8x10 prints and framed them in our foyer ![]() Joanne ![]() |

OMG! I'm in love with ALL of the portraits! Just makes me want to fill my entire house with all of your works of art!
Fantastic job guys, you've inspired me to do something artistic, what I'm not sure since I can't even draw a stick figure but by god I'm gonna do something creative today! lol Sizzle your use of such vibrant colors is amazing! I peeked at your auction and can TOTALLY see where a bidding war could break out! If it was payday here I'd be hard pressed not to join in that war myself! ![]() |

Those are all so cute!! I'll have to get some of mine up here. I can't say I'm that good, but I'm better at drawing dogs than humans, LOL. Lately I've been working on body parts for some reason. I've been drawing lots of eyes. LOL, ok, I'll stop being weird now!
