pits of today are not to blame for attacks
our world is changing ever so rapidly we call ourselfs a nation of dog lovers yet the leastest trend is to get the smallest dog you can and cram it in your bag like a teddy ppl act like they love dogs yet when they see a breed such as a pit which i own or a rotty or a shepherd or a doberman there atchude changes they remember bk to years ago when the media highlighted such breeds as being nastey killers ticking bombs the list is endless i watched a program about dangerous dogs act and dogs who were put on death row for biting yet it ws the owner to blame over and over yet its the dog who suffers. ppl think pits are killers yet they are just sensitive souls like any other dog who need to be loved all dogs no matter wht breed all dervived from the same thing the first dogs ever came from asia and derived from wolfs. how can we justife a certin a breed as being a killer and ban them in most countries were the dog must b muzzled in a public place kept under control at all time and you need a lesence to own one tht is complete *****
i have been a dog walker from 8 years and a while back before i got buster i was watching my mums friends pitbull kizer who is a very loving sweet boy i was waiting outside the shopping center for my mum sitting on bags of soil piled up with kizer resting by my side. suddenly out of no were a brown mongrel apeard running toward me dragging its leash i called to the owner to get her dog as kizer h8s other dogs b4 i knew it the dog ws in front of me snarling at kizer who flipped and leaped on the dog and they began to fight i was screaming as kizer tore the dog up crowds gatherd as i screamed and me and the man pulled the dogs apart but kizer locked to the dogs neck to the blood ws everywere we parted them and in my tempore i was swearing and telling the man his dog should b on a leash the man said to his boy is he hurt as his dogs back ws ripped open then he said im getting the police. he went to phone the police and his wife said to me tht beast should be under control i screamed tht mutt attacked him first she tutted wht danage could he do to a monstor like tht im my rage i flew for the women and grabbed her hair how dare she critise my dog tht mutt ws running off the leash my mum came out and saw the blood and ws shockd the women goes he attackd my dog my mum ws like sooo! she ws like we,re phoning the police so me and my mum had to flee as they would put kizer down because he ws portded as the attacker whn the dog attacked him first from tht day i have always gone mad whn ppl say those dogs are dangerous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! |

If you do a search, you'll see that there is a large number of threads about how much we all hate the reputation American Pit Bull Terriers have gained (undeservedly).
You're not alone in your frustration, but you might want to step back and take a few deep breaths before you write your posts. You're amongst friends and people who love APBTs...there is no need for so much anger. Cass. |

Like Cass said you are preaching to the choir. You should not have fled, it only makes you look more guilty. If you did nothing wrong you have nothing to fear. If a dog came up to ming and started to attack them trust me when I say I would do anything possible to protect them. At the same time if I knew my dogs could not be trusted around other dogs I would not let them get into a situation where it would be an issue.
One of my pups has issue with one of my roommates friends who is over often so whenever I take her out of my room she is on a leash. She is only ever off leash when I can guarantee that he will not be around. If she got violent towards dogs or kids I would muzzle her when we go out. For you to bring a dog out into public that you know does not tolerate certain things very well without taking precautions is reckless. That said I would not blame you for what happened. It was the other persons fault for having their dog off lead and not under control. If they had taken those very simple steps the whole situation would have been avoided. Please don't come in here and yell at us about this, we understand. We know pit bulls are great dogs, and their reputation is unfair. Heck I own one and trust him more then any other dog I have ever owned. |
