where did you get that pronunciation?
besides it being a made up breed, im not sure its the french pronunciation of the word. - the first syllable is Be (accent aigu) means it would be pronounces "bay" - im not sure its an ending in lay, i think in fact its an ending in "el". the word begueule is french for "open throat", or something of that english term. i would assume since its where we got the word beagle, it sounds something like that ihavent taken french in yeras though, so i cant be of more help than that... |

doberkim - you may in fact be right. The pronounciation I got was from a French teacher at the college I attend - but hey, he could be wrong!
As far as the 'made up breed' part - I'm not even going there. Every dog we have was 'made up' at one time - and not all were with a purpose. Take the Shih Tzu for example, strictly bred for companion purposes. |
