Red face king sheppard/bullmastiff cross

Hello everyone.

I just got a puppy who is only 6weeks old. His mother is a king sheppard and his father is a bullmastiff. My puppy's name is Togo (toe-go). Togo is an italian word for cool. I know 6weeks of age is to young to have been takin away from the mother, but I had no choice but to take him due to concerns for his saftey and heath. I weighed him yesturday and he is 12pounds. I was wondering isn't that allot?
I am taking him to get checked out by soon. He looks healthy, and he is acting like a normal puppy would act. I am worried about his weight though. I am not to sure if that is normal or not. He has been humping my leg allot also, not my fiances leg. just mine. I was just wondering what anyone thought of his weight. Any feedback is welcome and would be helpful.

Thanks Mandy

Just wondering what's a king shepherd? 12lb does sound like quite a bit, but if you're getting him checked out soon the vet will be best qualified to advise.

Congrats on your new addition anyway

Basically its an oversized GSD, can also be called a shilo shepherd too. Had some large breeds mixed in with it to get abigger size. Just people breeding to their own standard to create a "new" breed. Not sure about the shilo and the King being the same.

That's what I assumed. Someone in a shop came up to me and said that Hoofa was lovely but small for a Staff, and that she bred "King" staffs. (bearing in mind Hoof is 19ins) hmmmm....

Hrm, since the puppy has bullmastiff in it. Wouldn't you think he's going to be a tad bit big for a pup?

I don't know if 12lbs is big. Exspecialy since it is a mix of a Bullmastiff and a huge GSD.....I was looking at Mastiffs up for adoption once, just for the heck of it, and there was an 108lbs 8 month old Saint/Mastiff cross. My mom fell in love with him, but we/she/dad doesn't want that big of a dog in the house already full with 5 kids. lol

Are you positive it's Bullmastiff and not just Mastiff? Those are much heavier.
