That dog is so cute!! I can see a lot of Piper in it! But she has a longer muzzle, part of why i see b&t. I actually was watching a dog show last night and happened to turn it on right as the hounds were starting to show. They had a beautiful b&t, and his body and face looked so much like piper. Plus she has a hound's personality! She is one in a million!!
Brenna has just been such a great addition to our family of fuzzies! She is learning...she has found that getting into the dirty clothes is lots of fun until she gets in trouble! I also started looking more and more into corgi's, and besides her coat, ears, tail, legs etc. being very corgi-ish, so is her personality and the way she reacts to things. She will take more teaching than Piper did, or my parents Beagle (who i took through puppy classes), but she is such a teddy bear every min. is worth it!

I really do love this site...what a wonderful thing it is to talk and gush about the fuzzy loves in our life!!

So Piper does not roam or try to track? Is she very focused? Does stay next to you like Velcro

here at home she stays in our yard, even when she's not fenced in. in the summer we go to northern idaho where my soon to be in-laws have a cabin, and we'll go on walks and she stays within eye site, she'll run off following her nose, then look up, and run back to us, then follow her nose again...every once in a while she'll go a little too far...she'll look up and run back to us "sorry mom and dad....that was a good smell!!"

She sounds like a perfect off-leash dog.

It's interesting that she checks with you, I find that more in obedient labs and herding dogs rather than in hounds. I'm no expert either I find hounds loose themselves in the scent until called off. My main experience with hounds is with Beagles.

It is probably her mix. She follows her nose like a hound would and then the Labrador part will kick in and she says, "Oh, crap, mom stayed back there!"
