Or charge you one price for the pups without and try and make you pay more if you want the papers.
Under the CKC,it is illegal. If both parents(purebred) are registered, then the pup MUST be registered at birth. This is why "malkies" "balkies" "morkies" "dorkies" and whatever else these "mutts" are being called, will never be registered through any of the "kennel" clubs. These kennel clubs ONLY register PUREBREDS. |

See I knew I loved it here for a reason.....
your pup is very cute and no one is saying anything bad about her....it's just that people are crazed by the designer dog thing right now and it is BIG money when there are so many other mixed breeds out there dying in shelters. So please don't take offense at everyone's posts. In order for a dog to be a "real" breed, they must have many, MANY generations of breeding true to the type, and a purpose for that type, as in herding, guarding, or in your case companion. You would have to take many, many generations of "Malties", (say 30 years or more from now)have a real breed standard, a real club, and real breeders working with the breed and testing their dogs for genetic problems in order to say she is a breed. While it is true that every dog came from some mix....with the proliferation of mixed "designer dogs" out there right now...the gene pools are more and more dilute. That can't be good for any breed. It's hard enuf to get a good show quality dog with no genetic problems. So, do you think the owners of the really good Poodles and Yorkies and Maltese, that are showing in breed, are gonna let their high dollar dogs breed to another breed? I don't think so....... |

I am a proud owner of a "designer mix". I know they're are so many people against the breeding of these mixes, and everyone is intitled to their own opinion. I bought Teddy as a "jack-a-poo", that's what he was called and since he is a jack russell x poodle mix, it's so much easier to say "jack-a-poo". That's what he was bought as, so why be ashamed of that? I just feel that the people with designer mixes should be just as welcome as the people with registered purebreds. I have 2 purebreds and a designer mix, my purebreds arent registered, and they don't completely fit they're breed standard. Does that make them less of a dog then all your registered purebreds?

Really - we have absolutely nothing against THE DOG. We don't hate your designer mix.
What we hate is that someone bred him and you paid for him when there are millions of dogs dying daily in shelters across the country for nothing more then lack of a home. And the money that you spent on your little designer mix could have saved 40 dogs at some of the Michigan shelters! Having worked in a shelter and actually held dozens of perfectly healthy puppies to be euthanized - yes - people paying over a $1,000 for a designer dog is offensive. |

I ALSO own a designer dog...a Schnoodle. Know where I got her? From the local SHELTER. She was only six months old....why didn't her reponsible breeder take her back?
So there is an impact from these designer dogs that are ending up in shelters now. Responsible breeders have the support of their club to face breed issues. No one wants to support these mixed-breed breeders, and let me tell you there are a ton of issues with mixing breeds. Just look at all the Doodles with temperament issues in rescue. And the coat and skin issues, from mixing two breeds....it's a constant battle to keep mats away. |

I could have paid 1500 for a Jack-a-Poo in an Arizona pet store. I fell in love with the mix from meeting that particular puppy. But rather than shelling that much out for a pet store mix, I paid a measly 75 for my Teddy. I would never pay a high price for a mix, but what we paid for Teddy, I'd gladly pay all over again. He's a wonderful dog with a great personality. That's all that matters to me.
