I really hope you didn't buy him from a "breeder".

He is a very cute dog! But one of the worst things going on is people breeding mutts when we are already overcrowded with dogs of all breeds and mixes!

My name is Li, I am the mommy of a BEAUTIFUL female Malkie named Layla.
She has an amazing temperament and is such a sweet and loving dog. Every one who meets her, falls in love!

To Those hating on the Malkies . ..

EXCUSE me but Malkies are NOT mutts. Malkie is a REGISTERED DESIGNER BREED and has a traceable pedigree!

And I am not ashamed to day I bought her from a breeder. She is perfectly healthy and vaccinated and I love her with all my heart.

Over population of pets is not the breeders fault it is the fault of irresponsible pet owners who do not know how to supervise their pets, just the same as irresponsible parents who don't know how to raise their children!

It really gets to me when people bash breeders, if it is their chosen profession let them do it! Not all breeders and bad people in fact the vast majority aren't but all you hear about is the ones who are.

Welcome to GP LaylasMommyLi.

I'm not interested in getting into a debate with you about the merits of designer dogs, breeders or pet overpopulation but just want to point out to you that only breeds registered with the kennel council of your country (say the American Kennel Council in the US for example) can be registered breeds and thus only breeders of those breeds listed and recognised by the kennel council can become registered breeders. Here is a link to the AKC so you can see the breeds listed for yourself: American Kennel Club - Breeds.

Regardless of any of that I'm sure Layla has a wonderful home with you and hope that she lives a long, happy and healthy life with you and your family.

Not one person here hates your mixed breed dog!

Your dog is "registered" with a commercial breeder registry developed specifically to register dogs that are unregisterable with any of the reputable registries. In order for the American, Canadian, or any of the European registries to register a "malkie" - the "breed" would have several hoops to jump through to prove that the breed is an established, genetically sound breed that breeds true to the standard. As for a pedigree - I wonder if it is verifiable? And are ALL the dogs listed "malkies".

Since you are so sure that your "breeder" is a wonderful person - how about going to www.petshoppuppies.com and plugging your breeders name in. I wonder what the USDA inspection reports have to say.

My little brothers name is River so it made me smile to see your screen name

I am not trying to start a debate either I am just standing up for my opinion.

Layla comes from a Breeder that breeds yorkies and also malteese and now does Malkies I have several family members who have also purchased yorkies, malkies and malteses from him. I have seen his facility and he only breeds one litter of each at a time its not some guy with 100 puppies at a time.

I did the USDA inspection thing just to see what it has to say. But I have met the breeder personally before purchasing my Layla and after having so many of his puppies in my family who are all happy and healthy I trust that Layla will be too. Before purchasing her i also met the dame and sire and also took a look at there pedigrees. Its not like I passed by a pet shop window and dropped the change on a dog i knew nothing about.

So - what you are saying is that the bitch is a purebred of one breed and the stud is a purebred of another breed. This means that your puppy is NOT registered with the American Kennel Club as both parents have to be of the SAME breed.

Your dog IS a mutt. No matter if the parents were both AKC registered, your dog is NOT a BREED! It is a MIXED BREED, which is a mutt. I am sorry you spent so much money supporting an irresponsible breeder. Reputable breeders (The real breeders, not the ones who breed mutts) HEALTH CERTIFY which I am sure your "breeder" didn't do. They SHOW, and you CANNOT show a MUTT.

People need to STOP supporting this people who are breeding mutts, and YES the "breeder" who your dog came from IS extremely irresponsible.

you need to udnerstand that your dog is a MUTT. And that doesn't mean that everyone hates your dogs mixes. That is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard. I have mixed breeds myself, because I RESCUE.

And this "malkie" breeder is just that.No ETHICAL breeder would EVER take 2 different purebreds and mix them.Never ever.

Ethical breeder have the Sires and Dams health/genetic tested and certified.They belong to the club of their breed.They are registered with the Kennel Club.They have contracts.They title their dogs.Wether it be Conformation,SchH,OB,field...And so on.

Your puppy is a very cute MUTT.You should have gone to a shelter.I'm sure there are quite a few "malkies" there.

I am just so tired of hearing about all these doodles,poos,jugs and so on.

They will never be registered under a kennel club.AKC,CKC,UKC

And I have been a member of the CKC for 24 years.And don't think that this subject doesn't come up.
