Brother "fights" ivan

My brother thinks its fun to make the dog "play"ith him, i have done it before and now have a scar to prove it. I am just waiting for the dog to attack and not let go......he wont listen to me and i know what Ivan can do if he wants to. He said "Ivan cant hurt me, his heads to small" like that matters.....idiots gonna get himself hurt. See this is how pit bulls got a bad name and othe rresons. My point was, i need a way to destract Ivan from my brother without looking like a dog hog.

Perhaps keep treats around? My dog will onlly pay attention to me if I have a treat in my hand

Treats are a good idea. Also if he has a favourite toy, you might try that.

I'd also tell your parents that he's harrassing Ivan, which could provoke any dog if it gets too much for it.
Don't be afraid to be a 'dog hog'. It's in Ivan's best interest, if you ask me.

I agree with Cass and Marnie, your parents need to be involved before someone gets hurt.

my dad would do something if he lived over there. but my mom wont listen its like....oh ur just over recating.....now i keep ivan on the chain with me at all times.....he doesnt know anything about pit bulls, he only "likes" them because there powerful and big!!! i wish people listened to me and why can someone with no experince in the breed try to ague with someone like me???

Even tho your dad is not there does not mean you cannot tell him, maybe he can put some sense ito your brother.... Have your bro read this forum and show him some dog attacks, dogs can play rough but some can take it further. I would never want to play rough with my dogs or any dog and do not allow the children either your only asking for trouble.... I don't allow mouthing of any kind and my pups learned from the start that was unacceptable behaviour.....

I kinda thought that, wasn't sure if you still talk with your dad, and really thats non of my business so I don't wanna pry so will just leave it at that.. Sorry

..... For your brothers sake I do hope he stops playing like that with the dog cause it will be a sad out come for both if the dog tends to get more rough....

ivan is very rough when he plays with dogs he goes for the troat, and he might go for a person troat in a playful way but we have less tough skin and it will break easyer. My brother doesnt see ivan as a threat because hes small and that means he cant hurt u....he needs to study.
