Non-Sporting Group Dogs in the Non-Sporting Group do not fit the criteria of the other breed groups, or may no longer perform the tasks they were originally bred for. These dogs all make wonderful family companions.

Crossfire!

Hey, i was wondering if you'd care to e-mail my mom.

This is the new dog they have filled out an application for...

http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?act...25&tmpl=&stat=

They said they are in love and now my mom is reading up on them all over the internet...

I thought it might be great for her to have some first hand knowledge and experience from you! Tell her what they are all about.
Pleeeeeaaase?

Thanks! I just replied to Schwe's PM. She had lots of good questions, most of which I've already talked about with my parents. I think they are ready and not being SPO's this time!

AND their landlord also happens to be their vet! lol... They can call her anytime with ?'s - she has a rottie and likes the big breeds.

My mom has been scouring the net for info, I am so proud of them this time around. So far all of our dogs my whole life have come from BYB's (except one who came from the MSPCA). I don't think they knew any better, but I've been drilling it into their heads about rescuing. They've literally went to every shelter around looking, I told them it's good they're searching for one that fits their lifestyle and not just the first one they saw!

Anyway, it seems I've covered most of the bases with them from what Schwe asked me in the PM. Like I told her, I soaked up info as much as I could when I worked at the vet in NC. We had alot of BD's come in so I knew a decent amount about them (more than I realized actually) but no-where near as much as you girls!

So far my parents are doing things right, they're searching for an ob trainer and everything.

They are still sad that Mac didn't work out, but it was for the best.

And yeah, he is so adorable!

PS - can BD's swim well?

hehe... this is up for debate!! I think it depends on the individual... my girl sinks like a STONE, but I know another bulldog boy that is a fish. However, Sophie loves to wade in the water and retrieve sticks from the lake, but won't go farther than she can touch bottom.

Oh, my parents have a big boat and are looking forward to taking him to the sandbar which is shallow.

Thanks for the help!

Well nevermind, it was a no-go...my mom didn't like the way he was acting around Davey. (It says not good with kids, cats & dogs on the site, but they told her that info was all wrong and that he was good with other dogs and they didn't know about cats & kids)

So they are going back to the original shelter and putting their $200.00 fee they paid for Mac, towards a 10 month old mix that the shelter lady said she KNEW personally was good with all ages of kids.
