Smile Questions about Bully's and showing etc etc....

OK--I need some toys *chew toys* that are good for Bully's--Dozer has a ton but let me tell you---I forgot how much puppies can chew and he chews more then any puppy I have ever been around LOL....*got to love him anyway* HE chews them ALL up--I don't like rawhides so please stir clear of them if you have any other idea's??????

Also I have been doing some research on his Dam and Sire--I know he has champs. at least 5 generations back but wanted to just learn more about his bloodlines etc etc.. WHERE do I find info. like that? ANY clues...I have done searches online--found TONS on his Sire who is a BISS Ch. BTW show people what does BISS mean.... I know I can go to his breeder and ask all this NO problems but thought I would ask here first...

After having Dozer for a little over a month I have to say I HAVE fallen in love with this breed more then I already had--He reminds me SO much of a boxer and it has been great fun having him in our home and working with him...VERY smart little guy too---he already is housetrained--kennel trained *holds it all night too* knows how to walk on a leash and knows how to sit..It such a joy to have him in our home and HARLEY is loving every minute of it....

Also-=--isn't there some kind of shows I can enter him in JUST for fun even though I am having him neutered...

I know I know--look it all up online but this just seems like it would be quicker...THANKSSSSSSSSSS

Well is the pup registered? If he is, then you'll get the info on his lines from the pedigree.
Also, for shows, as far as I know, you can enter into any event, apart from conformation, they must be intact to be shown.
As far as chew toys go, I'd be interested to hear the feedback on that as well. I have that problem with my Rotties...LOL. It's hard to find anything that "lasts".

Yeah--I have spoken many times to Sonja but at those times didn't have a Bully puppy--so Im very interested in her advise..

He is reg.. I know I can not show him in real conformation but I thought I had heard of like funny matches where they could be neutered that where in conformation.....

I know I will get his pedigree when I send in his papers to AKC..if I pay for it etc etc.. I think I may have missed the point of interest with my question..I am aware of finding his background etc.. Im interested in learning about which lines are considered the best etc. Such as Millcoats Titus things like that.... Again I don't think I explained that very well--ugh LOL@me...I will have to think about what Im actually interested in learning and then post again SORRY LOL...

For any heavy chewing breed I still think the best toys are made by kong. They even have the black ones for the really heavy chewers.

I think I have heard of the shows you are talking about, but I can't remember where I heard of them.

LOL--==thats not good--I have tried the Kongs with him and he doesn't seem very interested in them Even with treats etc..Harley doesn't seem to like them much either--I guess boxers and bulldogs want every thing handed to them they sure don't want to work for it LOL

My Bully (From Sonjas Bloodline) loves his Kong. He also loves my slippers.... lol. Hes not much of a chewer suprising enough. The only thing he really distroys are tennis balls. He pops them rather then chews on them. I love Raw meaty bones for them.
Rawhide is certainly not a good idea, especially for Bullies.

Tracing my boys history is easy... I just gotta talk to Crossfire. However, I dont think hes going to be showns. His jaw is still a little off. Oh well we love him just the same.

Bulldogs are a lot of work, but well worth the payoff.

Red Kongs can't even stand up to my JRT...but the black ones do!

The folks that make Greenies, make a hard rubber-type toy that is shaped like a Greenie. They come in different degrees of hardness, and I got a large one that was marked "extra tuff" or something like that. It works great!!

I don't know a thing about bully lines. Sorry! I know that there is a website that has nothing but pedigrees on GSDs...don't know if there is one for bullies!

I thought there was an event called "Premiere Showing" for spayed and neutered animals. I know when I got my black persian cat from a breeder that I was interested in doing something like that with her and was told by several breeders that that was an option not sure if it is only something for cats though. Its to bad you can't show altered purebreds and win titles for them. *oh well*

Hey there

Is this one of Mike's boys? He looks like he is from the pictures you posted. If so is he requiring you to use his kennel name for registration? Your right, you can ask the breeder or research it on your own, I have my own database with about 15,000 bullies entered currently and I add more every day so I can probably help you out there.

As for what bloodlines are best, that's a debateable topic and really depends on who you talk to. I typically am not fond of listing who I like or don't like out of the "current" breeders, each reputable breeder strives for the very same thing and I find it a bit unfair to "lable" someone as good or bad. You can however go to the national club web site and get the list of Champions over the years that have taken the nationals and Ed Scully has a very nice database there as well to look at champions.

There have been some remarkable dogs over the years, a few of my favorites in no particular order are Ch. Hetherbull Bounty's Frigate, Ch. O'Sandy's Jiggs II, Ch Mapo's Sandman, Ch. Vardona Frosty Snowman, Ch. Min-A-Sota Fats of Kelly Road, Ch. Marinebull's All The Way, Ch. Milcoats Titus and Ch. Little Pond's Osage Ollie just to name a few. lol

There are many bullies the have a dislike for the kongs, why exactly I haven't a clue but you'll probably have better luck with the edible bones ( not rawhide ) and chew ropes.

Bullies are awesome! I love my sister's. She was going to register her in AKC, But it turns out Fury is UKC. She had a great name picked too. Wrinklestilskin's Furious. But, she already had a registered name Jan Pepper & can not change it. Maybe you could use Wrinklestilskin in a registered name? The other Bully she had was named after the white Tiger that mauled Sigfried? His name was Monte for short. I to have both bullies' pedigrees here & was trying to
figure out pedigree lines. Just for the fun of it. I had fun with my German Shepherd's pedigree & learing from it. My sister also had a Rotti. I got her Pedigree too. I also have my Mom's Shiba Inu Pedigree too & My Pug's too. I still haven't found too much on any Peds. except my German Shepherds. As for toys? There is a good size ball with a built in handle on it. I forgot the name of it, but Fury loves that thing! She also had a Kong shaped bone with a noise maker in it. That lasted a long time. My sister had to take out the noise part though. It sounded a little like a baby. Fury would treat it as one too. Large Soup bones are awesome & keeps her pretty busy.

Thanks for the input==This boy sure is a chewer--

Yep Sonja he is one of Mike's boys and we are in love with the breed--I met his mother*obv. I was there when we did the C Section* I have meet the rest of the litter--met his Uncles and Aunts and blah blah blah LOL...they are great little ones--I did do a search on his dad and found a lot of info but will send you his parents name in a PM and see if you have any other info..Two of the names above I did find in his lines. It doesn't really matter as he will be neutered regardless....But I would LOVE to get into showing and Mike has agreed to help me along the way with what I need to know etc etc..but its nice to have other breeders of the breed to turn to as well. *showing won't happen until something happens to Harley though*

As for the AKC name--I can use his kennel if I want--he said it is up to me IF I where showing or breeding *with his approval* then Of course I would have to BUT since Im doing neither Its up to us...

His name with them was Chuck--I didnt like it so we changed it to Dozer--or aka Fat Boy and/or Chunk LOL..He is 19 wks old now and weighs in at about 23 lbs...and he is a Joy...BUT again LOVES to chew..LOL..

He does like the rope toys but already is tearing them up---we tried the kongs with no interest.. and other toys but again he tears them up--HE loves to chew on clothes LOL and anything that he can get in his little mouth...but hopefully once teething is over it won't be as bad...I will try to find something that works for him--he has about 30 toys already LOL...He isn't spoiled or anything and Im still amazed at how Harley feels he has to take care of him--I think its because of Harleys health but either way they are best buds now..Hope it stays that way...
