Non-Sporting Group Dogs in the Non-Sporting Group do not fit the criteria of the other breed groups, or may no longer perform the tasks they were originally bred for. These dogs all make wonderful family companions.

Question Another Bull Dog Question?

Is it true, Bull Dogs are born with out tails? Or are they cropped?
My Sister's Furious has a straight tail that is abot 3 to 5 inches long.
Others I have seen really do not have much for tails. I was also curious to know if there are other pedigree databases out there other that the Wimsey Bulldogs website? TIA

They do have tails, they were born with them.

My boy has what I refer to as a piggy tail. Its short and curled up, very close to his butt.

Bulldog tails are either straight or screwed and should never be cropped. Their actually born that way.

Several of mine have the very short, stubby screwed tails and one of my girls has a straight tail or what I like to call her little pump handle. I'd much rather see a bully with a bit of tail than one with none at all.

As far as databases go, there really aren't many out there but Ed Scully has a nice database on the BCA web site and bullynet is good for some more recent peds.

Exactly . There born that way, how It comes up you cry or you smile. There's no way around It, you should never crop a Bulldogs tail. Or there ears, or have there ears put up!

Marty my new bulldog has an adorable little stub of a tail that curls up under a little bit. The short tail however, makes him wag his whole butt when he is excited. A sight that can make anyone laugh on a bad day.
