I've PM'd you the site with the NIPPO dogs on it. I'm guessing from what they say on their site that they were imported from breeders that compete in NIPPO.

I found a great site called The Misanphropic Shiba...wow, if anything could scare someone out of owning a Shiba...that site is it.

Gave me a great picture of what it's like living with them. Surprisingly it didn't disuade me (in fact I have been sitting at my computer laughing hysterically for the last 10 minutes as I read that page). Perhaps that means I'm mentally unbalanced?

I'm SO glad you found that site! It's a bit famous amongst Shiba owners and it's the site I send EVERYONE to who thinks they may be interested in owning one. If you've come off laughing, then you're definitely on the right track - it's honestly 100% accurate - in fact, I remember posting this site on a forum (I can't remember if it was this one) and a prospective owner was so horrified that they asked me what was good about the breed. I told them if they didn't see all of those attributes as positives, then it definitely wasn't the breed for them.

I am very careful about recommending my breed to anyone, but from what I'm hearing, you're getting a two-thumbs up. You sound like you'd definitely love life with a Shiba.
