| Non-Sporting Group Dogs in the Non-Sporting Group do not fit the criteria of the other breed groups, or may no longer perform the tasks they were originally bred for. These dogs all make wonderful family companions. |

I know this thread is super old but being a bulldog owner I thought Id chime in. Before we got Chevy we did pleanty of research! Not all vets are familiar with the bulldog breed. (Yes, they are called Bulldogs, not english bulldogs
) We found a wonderful Bulldog vet, went to the BCA (Bulldog Club of America) to find a reputable breeder. We alos considered rescue but with all their medical conditions and already having one with EXTREME medical issues/bills we opted to buy from a breeder. WE researched the breeders background, where the pups were kept, their health testing, etc. etc. We finally (after 8 months of planning and research found the right breeder)...then we waited another four months for the puppies to come. Chevy's sire is "CH Steelebulls Catch Me If You Can", and his call name is "Yoda". Chevy look a lot like her sire and he is just something else to look at. Ch. Steelebull Catch Me If U Can "yoda" In memory of a great champion A few things to remember: Newspaper dogs = sick dogs, puppy mill dogs, BYB dogs A "cheap" bulldog will not look like a bulldog should as an adult... There are several reputable breeders that keep a few puppies from each litter. House trained them, socialize them and watch them to see if they are show prospects. If they are not, (i.e. Gait isnt right, bite may be off a little, head not set how they'd like it; but nothing that means the puppy is not healthy) they find them loving new families...usually around 5 to 6 months of age. A good place to start would be your local bulldog club ![]() |

Alot of work bullies
I'd be careful introducing the two. My boyfriend and i just got an english bulldog for $800 from a local breeder. The price wasn't too bad, however we didn't research breed behaviors or anything, we just knew we wanted an adorable baby bully. Marty who is 8 weeks old today, needs ALOT of attention and tons of things to bite. He chews on everything, and seems to be very aggressive now(we've had him for a week). So good luck with an english bulldog, they are very smart but a little hard headed and stubborn.
