| Non-Sporting Group Dogs in the Non-Sporting Group do not fit the criteria of the other breed groups, or may no longer perform the tasks they were originally bred for. These dogs all make wonderful family companions. |

I reccomend you do alot of research with your BF involved. Visit many breeders ak many questions, go to dog shows. Properly bred ones from COE can vary from 800usd to 1800usd, depends on the lines. Or more.....

Bullies are not a breed to enter into lightly. They take a lot of work. Research Research Research
Why does he want a Bulldog? Does he really know about their temperament, health, and abilities or is it because of how they look? How about medical costs? Bulldogs tend to cost more at the vets then many other breeds due to their health make up. (My two dogs both had the same skin issue over the summer, my Bully cost 5 or 6 times what it did to help my “normal” dog) I’m not asking these questions to deter you, I LOVE my Bulldog, however, I did lots of research and quickly realized they are NOT for everyone. Also thought that I'd add that even if you find a Bulldog cheaper, as from a BYB or such, the money cost will add up in its lifetime because of all of the health problems it will have...better to spend more money intialy than for a long period of time.
Bulldogs are genrally compatable with other dogs when raised with them, but they can have same sex aggression. I think it mostly depends on socialization. I've known some Bullies that were very dog aggressive, and others that loved other dogs. I'd talk to Crossfire about Bulldogs, seeing as she breeds them. ![]() |

The breed as a whole is known to do well with other animals but just as with any other dog socialization is the key to a social animal. As has already been mentioned, it's always in the best interest of both the dog and the owner to research the breed before getting any dog and with the Bulldog it's something that can actually make the difference between a healthy / happy dog and one that may only live for a short period of time. This is certainly not a breed that I would recommend bargain shopping for or getting from anything less than a very reputable / ethical breeder. |

I think the flat faced dogs also have a difficult time trying to break the sack the pups are in. My Boston couldn't do it, plus she was too exausted to have the fifth pup and had to have a C-section. She was so weak after that and she got a staff infection. I had to clean her and the pups each day with a medicated solution the Doctors rub on a patient before surgery. It was not a fun time for anyone. It was the first and last time I ever let a dog have pups. Never again!

Fury was spayed over Thanksgiving. It was an emergency one. I know the name of the infection she got, but not sure of the spelling.
Pyroderma? Does that sound right? Anyways, it was a $1,500 procedure. My sister paid $2,500 for her & then air shipping (came from Russia). I forgot how much it was to remove her Cherry eye? She too has skin problems in the warm weather. I too also found out. These are not couch potatoe dogs! She is more active than my GSD! My sister has to crate her when she gets too excited. It is the only way to calm her & cool her down.Extremely agile! Fury loves anybody & anything. My sister brings her just about everywhere. She has done this with Fury since day one of owning her. I love Fury to death, but she is away out of my price range & Activity range. ![]() |

You need to do A LOT of research! Do you know all the health problems that can come rolling around with a English Bulldog. Could you afford monthly health insurance? Its a big topic with this breed, they can have breathing problems. They have a bigger problem digesting foods, there not recommended for raw feeding or strictly meat diets, If thats what you feed. They can cost almost up to $3,000 for a well-bred, good English Bulldog. Are you looking to ship? Most breeders dont include shipping in the cost, that could add another $200-$300 or more if your out of the USA. Some breeders WONT ship, or not out of the USA. These dogs range in energy depending on the dog. If you want something calm TELL the breeder! Specially If your planning on having the pup shipped. If you are serious about getting an English bulldog, I ask that you please consider fully reading this site: Bulldog. The English Bulldog by Bulldog Information. It covers just about everything, head to toe. As a breeder, you dont want this to be your first time dog. Dont get a bull dog because you think he/she looks "adorable". These dogs are not for the weak minded or hearted, they can over power your home . Come in to VERY high medical problems, and can be a very demanding breed. As much as I love this breed, In all honesty there not any every person kind of dog. Really consider this before buying one, and ask your self does your boyfriend want this breed to look cool with. Or does he really want to invest In such a wonderful and amazing breed of dog? Can you afford what this could bring to the table?
