Non-Sporting Group Dogs in the Non-Sporting Group do not fit the criteria of the other breed groups, or may no longer perform the tasks they were originally bred for. These dogs all make wonderful family companions.

I completely agree. While losing hearing and sight is a horrible thought, it doesn't mean the dogs quality of life is any different. She just needs a little extra care and help.

How old is she?

It's unfortunate that she has lost most, if not all, of those particular senses, but it's not the end of the world.

Agreed - I've known deaf dogs, blind dogs, and dogs that were both blind and deaf - they adapt remarkably well, especially when their owners put in a little extra effort to ensure they are comfortable and have a way to get around. Your dog can still have a perfectly enjoyable life - don't give up on her just yet!

mitzey is: 12 years old. she turned 12 sometime in october. mitzey, is actaully going through pain. her tail has grown inside of her when she was a puppy. now, it is growing outside, which i know hurts. she spins around on her butt. we have to stop her, cause if we don't, her butt will start to bleed, and she will whine about it. and also, she did have a lot of stuff in her ear. her hearing has gotten a little better since then. when the doctor was checking her ear out, she didn't whine. which, i was very surprised... well, i got to go...

If she's 12yrs old nothing is growing. Her skeleton finished growing before she was 2yrs old. What did the vet say about it? Maybe her 'butt spinning' is due to anal glands or something else around her butt area.
Surely a vet would simply tell you to have the tail docked if there was a problem with it?

I'm totally confused.

Cass.

I am very confused as well I don't understand anything you are saying about her tail. From what you are describing with her ears it sounds like an infection and not deafness.

this is a problem you should get a solution from you vet to keep her ears cleaned out so she can hear well and doesn't get uncomfortable ear infections..

The Boston Terrier does have terrier in it. This breed was developed by crossing the Old English toy bulldog with the White english terrier and then adding French bulldog to make it what the breed is today... The boston bull what it use to be called when it was a much bigger and heavier set dog was originally bred for dogfighting. Thankgoodness no longer what its bred, now bred for a loving companion.. The ancestors of all modern boston terriers was the dog known as Hooper's Judge who was owned by Mr.Robert C. Hooper of Boston...

The dogs now a days depending where you get them can look alot more bulldog with the pushed in face and more bulkier set or more terrier with more of a snout on them and more skinnier...

Where my female Sativa is alot more bulldog, my male Junior has alot more terrier in him and a lil snout not to mention the lil tail he has lol...

Either way I just luv this lil brack breed...
lovely breed
