Non-Sporting Group Dogs in the Non-Sporting Group do not fit the criteria of the other breed groups, or may no longer perform the tasks they were originally bred for. These dogs all make wonderful family companions.

Boston terrier bulldog group

does anybody have a boston terrier bulldog? i have one. she's to old to go in a show. we was going to get another boston terrier, but, my grandfather thought that mitzey might die of a broken heart. and we didn't get her. the dog needed our help. the last owners use to starve her and stuff. i new who they where. they was my friends. i was a little upset about it though.

I've never heard of a boston terrier bulldog before? Do you mean a "Boston Terrier", or is this a mix? Would love to see pictures!

Why would someone have to email you just to get an answer? Is it the dog in your avatar or one that looks like it / same breed? Or is it a mixed breed, a boston terrier and bulldog mix?

Ahh I see. I wondered. The dog in your avatar appears to be a Boston Terrier to me. Many people often refer to the Boston Terrier as a Boston Bulldog although that isn't really what their called. Maybe thats where you got the name from?

I have the same thing happen often with my breed of choice, I have Bulldogs but alot of people call them English Bulldogs. Really there is no such thing as an English Bulldog but it's kind of a "slang" term used by alot of folks.

I thought the English bulldog was the shorter squattier type while the American bulldog is taller, like an APBT.

Isn't the Boston Terrier derived from a bulldog/terrier mix?

You're right rmci, but what Sonja is saying is...it's not 'English' Bulldog it's "British" Bulldog.

I always thought British and English were correct and interchangable but actually now that I know 'english' is wrong, it does irritate me a tad as well.

Your little dog is cute. Boston terriers are non sporting dogs not actually terriers though. I made a boston terrier thread in the non sporting section not that long ago.

Why change your avatar? Your dog is gorgeous. Your dog is a Boston Terrier, sometimes called a Boston Bulldog by people although that is not the correct name for the breed. In the AKC Boston Terriers are in shown in a group called the 'non sporting' group, rather than in the terrier group (probably because it's a bully breed rather than a true terrier).

See? Nothing confusing about that.

That doesn't sound like she needs to be put down. Being deaf and blind isn't the end of the world, it just means that you have look after her a little more than other dogs. She'll do fine.

However if she lost her hearing so fast she may have a problem with her ears...perhaps something is in them? Please don't jump to the "we have to put her down" conclusion yet. That's a last resort for extreme cases only. Not for hearing loss or blindness.
