Non-Sporting Group Dogs in the Non-Sporting Group do not fit the criteria of the other breed groups, or may no longer perform the tasks they were originally bred for. These dogs all make wonderful family companions.

Shar pei

My exboyfriend got a sharpei and then didn't want him so i got him and he is wary of strangers because my ex was a jerk and not good to him but to those he knows he is the sweetest in the world. I have an opportunity to go to England so i gave him to a family but they can't keep him so i am trying to find him a good home. Sharpei's need to be socialized when they are young so they get used to people otherwise it takes time for them to trust completely. He totally loves the family that has him now but the neighbors are intimidated by him. He is such a sweet boy but i am having a hard time finding a good home for him. if you are interested let me know. If not and you consider getting getting a different sharpei they don't stink and they come in lots of different colors and mouth shapes (bone or meat mouth) and different hair (horse coat-short and wirey or brush coat-longer and soft). they are great but do need to be around people early on. they can also have lots of skin on the eyes which causes tearing. I heard the more wrinkly ones have more skin problems. anyway let me know and good luck

I have 2 shar peis.
Cinnamon is a 2 yr old dilute red and Dandylion is a 1 yr old fawn with black mask and snow nose. I never heard of them stinking either. My two are both brush coats, with the horse coat genes in them. Cinnamon's dam is a dilute apricot and her sire is black. Dandy's dam is a flowered and his sire is a chocolate. Cinnamon has a dry mouth and Dandy has a wet mouth. After Dandy drinks water, he'll shake his head and that's when the slobber starts. Cinnamon, on the other hand, doesn't slobber.
