| Non-Sporting Group Dogs in the Non-Sporting Group do not fit the criteria of the other breed groups, or may no longer perform the tasks they were originally bred for. These dogs all make wonderful family companions. |

I met two on Thursday. The ones that I met, I hope were not typical of the breed.
They were horribly fearful and snappy, one dog reacted to a truck honking its horn by snapping at his owner. The other just cowered and growled, and lunged at other dogs occasionally. I hope this came from poor training and socialization but with the very extreme way they acted, I couldn't help but think that it might have been bad genetics. |

I just looked up those dogs and that's what they say....that they are very prone to extreme shyness and timidity. They wouldn't be for me. They're made up from Chows, and a couple other spitz type dogs...forget which. They're cute looking though.
Anyhow...welcome to the forums. |

Hi there, Im new. I have 2 Eurasier puppies who are both 16 weeks old. The breed was developed in the 1960's from a chow a wolfspitz and a samyoyd. The breed are naturally reserved towards strangers without being agressive. They do need a lot of socialisation.I am currently taking my Eurasiers to ring craft training to make them less fearfull of strangers and to get them used to being touched by them. Both of my eurasiers are very loving and great with the family.
