Update on my new Kitten, Tags!

Well, I finally have figured out the kittens gender (Thanks Sonja! ) and it's a little girl .

Her name is Tags. I know, unusual name right? Well, she LOVES tags on stuffed animals, a comforter, whatever... if it's a tag, she'll attack it! So, after about 2 1/2 days... this kitty and I are bonded like SUPERglue. She cries if she cannot find me, and when I hear her crying I come running into the room. LOL My boyfriend says I am up alot during the night, sitting up and looking around for her. I never remembered this, but he says I was lol. My mom said it's my "Motherly instinct" and I'm making sure my baby is okay. She LOVES to sleep on shoulders or around the back of your neck. I cannot go and take a shower without her being in the bathroom and up on the bathtub side. She doesn't exactly like the thought of the water, and starts meowing like crazy, but she won't stay by the sink. So I keep a towel on the side so she can sit next to me. She sleeps right on my chest or right beside my face. She has to be touching me, or she isn't content. But today she finally took a nap by herself.. which I was proud of her. She LOVES feet. She attacks the dogs feet or human feet if you entice her with your toes. She has learned her name pretty well and will follow me if I call her. We are going to keep her an inside kitty, as we just don't want to take the extra risks of her being outside with cars, stray dogs/cats, etc. We are keeping her on dry food, and only wet food as a treat. We had to buy some kitten food and bought the Exclusive brand for her. I still have to break it up into tiny pieces as it is still too big for her to chew, and her teeth are so tiny. But she prefers the dry over the wet anyhow, so we like that. Using the litter box very well, but she isn't too good at covering it up just yet. She sometimes steps in it.. silly kitty. She knows how to tell me when she's hungry, thirsty, has to potty, or when it's nap time. She meows at me. The last resort to her crying is usually always nap time. She gets cranky. lol

But my mom is so amazed at how bonded the two of us have become. My mom said you can just see it in the kitten that she looks to me as mommy. My mom is glad we have a kitten thought because it is so fun to watch her play. She'll get spunky and run to the kitchen with her tail up and bouncing every few feet. And she'll pounce on anything that moves, and hops sideways. It's so hilarious. This is a WHOLE new experience for me as I have never raised a kitten before. My mom has raised kittens in her life, and has raised to litters of kittens, and she said it has been so long since she's done so and she enjoys seeing Tags play.

She gets along great with the other dogs. She is the least bit afraid of them. Is always supervised of course while playing. Sheiba was showing a bit of motherly advice at first but is now getting a bit pushy with the "mouthing" and is now "nipping" when the kitten runs by, so we are correcting this behavior and not allowing her to do it. But they get along great. The other two cats really don't care for her. Cindy doesn't like her and Marbles (the one who had the 2 litters - 20 years old) doesn't mind her, but would rather her not be so close and touching her.

And what is it with cats and hairspray? If I have hairspray in my hair, she'll start to purr, bite at my head, and rub all over my hair. Peepers used to do this. It's so weird. LOL

But, just thought i would give an update. Here is one picture of her, and I will post more pictures in the picture forum.

oh she is adorable .....congrats on your new baby.... I am looking forward to those days again,.... remind me that I said that when the new kid comes home..... in the meantime I have to start thinking of a name.....

Awwwwwwww how adorable! I miss that kitten play. I love it when my cats start playing like kittens again. We call it "they got a hair up their butts!" LOL I have no idea where that expression comes from, but it's apt. Tails held high and pounces all over the place.

LOL! That actually explains it very well! Ears back, tailes held high and attacking every single thing that moves. Haha... she's so adorable!

She decided to hide on me today, I was freaking out cause I couldn't find her ANYWHERE! Sheiba ended up finding her. She had crawled under my dad's dresser, and into one of the drawers and curled up to go to sleep. Thank you Miss Sheiba! We were asking them the entire time.. "Where's the kitty?" Miss Smartypants found her. I'm so relieved!

Congrats on the new baby! Our kitten is now 5 months old, and is best friends with our beagle. I was a little worried how it would go, but they just adore each other. (even sleep together, which is fine, until they try to do it on me) I love the kitten play...and the way they run around with their little tails straight up in the air...they look like little bumper cars! Oh, and I LOVE the name!

Thanks! She loves the doggies... especially Bubby. She curled up on the bed between Sheiba and Sarge tonight. It was so cute and I wish my camera was around to take a picture! She loves to sleep right next to me or on my chest around my neck.

Some people were like "Why'd you name her Tags?" LOL Once I explained it they were like "Aw, that's so cute."

She actually now has REALLY taken a liking to feet and climbing up your legs if you have pants on. You walk right past her and she'll run from where she's hiding and leap right onto your leg. She's so fiesty!

ohhh how cute! She reminds me of my cat Salem when she was a kitten.
