Talking I'm soooooo excited!!!! (Maybe a new pet!)

Even before Abby died, I was searching around for a Cockatiel breeder. I have always liked them, and when Abby died, I was missing having a bird around, so my search intensified.
But now I've finally found a breeder close to home that still has some chicks avalible and after corrosponding back and forth we just have to set up a date for me to come meet the little guy!

Here is their website of the breeder: http://www.toolady.com/www/breeders/...ngsaviary.html

And here is the picture of the birdie!
He is a cock and is only about four months old, hand raised and everything. And he's only 80$ which sure beats a wild, not-so-healthy, 100$ bird from Petsmart!

I've asked about his personality and he sounds lovely. I've inquired about what he's been eating and it also sounds like something I could feed with no problem, especially since they buy most of their feed (except the fresh food) from the store that I buy at religously. lol And the breeder sounds wonderful too.

I've talked to my mom about it, and she didn't say no (she didn't say yes, either though), but since she didn't say no, I'm going to take that as a yes.
That is what I did with Dameon (she was like, I really don't want another one...why do you need another one?, but she didn't say no!), but I just set my heart on it and she went along. Now she gripes about the Fert (he stinks, and he's fat, and he's evil), and she calls him a demon and she won't touch him (something about the fact that he had food aggression when I first got him and bit me three different times so he drew blood and wouldn't let go..), but she does laugh at him.
And I've made broad hints that I'm really serious about this guy, and she seems to be excepting it...she even made a reference about going down there where the breeder is tonight...so keep your fingers crossed!

I have to go to Petsmart to buy some Cavy stuff (hay, bedding, you know, the usual. lol), so I think while I'm there I'm going to purchase a cage. If I actually walk up to the counter and buy the cage she won't stop me...I've had to beg for the past four pets that I have (took me a year to get two of them) and I now know how to push her buttons just right.

Just thought I'd share the news and I hope it all goes well! (I'm excited about it, can you tell? Because it will be this next week - Mon, Tues, or Wed.- that I'll be getting him, if it all works out!)

And I curse this website for keeping me on here browsing around when I should be taking a shower, scooping poop, and getting ready for bed because I have work tomorrow! lol

Congrats on the new 'tiel if you get it. He's gorgeous. I can't believe 'tiels cost so much over there. $80 for a 'tiel is a fortune over here. But can't wait to see pictures of him as he matures, should you end up getting him.

Cass.

Aaaaaaaaaaw he's very cute, they do make lovely pets especially hand raised ones... Since we have had ours Cheeko finally will sit on our shoulders and stayed on my sons for about an hr being talked too. I think he realized we are pretty nice

Well.....I'm going to be going to pick him up tomorrow!!!!

When my mom and I were going shopping, I just asked her in the middle of our conversation when would be a good time to pick the bird up and that I was aiming for Monday or Tuesday since I'm buying everything Monday. She gave me a look and said that she had a headache so bad (she really did...she had a migrain from sitting out in the sun all day at a baseball game of my bros) she couldn't think.
And then when we got home, I pressed the issue a little bit more ("I need to know so I can tell the breeder!") and she said, "I'm staying out of this one, go talk to your dad". So I was thinking, Oh goodie, dad won't care what I get as long as it isn't too messy or really expensive, so I went down stairs and dad was watching T.V. so
I was like, "Hey Dad, Mom said I need to ask you, so do you mind if I get another bird to replace Abby?" and he asked some questions like, "How messy is it...how expenisve...how big..." and then he was like, "Sure, its fine with me." LOL
I went up and told mom and she just kinda sighed and was like, "Do the breeders offer any gaurtentees or something?" and I said, "Ya."
So we're going to go and pick him up Monday!!!! YEY! I told my brother that I was going to get the bird and he was like, "Hey, maybe I could get you to ask Mom and Dad for a new car for me, since you can get them to give you what you want!" lol

So I'm excited now and I can't WAIT!
