Picky Eater

OK every day sox gets a little treat of Friskes Samlon dinner just a little bit.
Today we had the real samon sox jummped on my lap while we were eating to sniff the fish. then she jumped off. I got her treat out and put some salmon in it. She didn't even taste it.

She only likes her Salmon Dinner.
I have tried other typens of soft serve for a treat and she always will get sick of it. But not The Salmon Dinner. She is my Picky eater. As a kitten she was extremely picky. we went threw like 5 differnt types of food.

Any one else have picky eaters in the family?

My shelties are not picky eaters (well Lexie is, but that’s just with dog food) but I am. I can honestly say the worst thing to do to a fussy eater is forces them to eat what they don't like. I hate when people lecture me on eating,

The cat here, Max, will NOT touch anything besides his cat food. Nothing. Doesn't matter what it is, he just wants his cat food.

My girls are picky at times. My older sister is suuuper picky. She won't eat potatoes without cheese, if it has mushrooms or spinach, she won't eat it, she only likes the way she makes eggs....

no animal in my house is allowed to be picky. you eat what i put down - youre allowed to not like one of the cuts of meat, etc, but in general, you need to eat what i feed. cats, dogs, rats, you name it.

i think the worst thing you can do to a picky eater is cater to them and constantly change their food trying to get something else they like.

Bitty will eat anything in her path - I have to watch her very closely, because she's been known to eat indigestible things. She will eat any kind of food or treat for any kind of animal. I've caught her eating chinchilla food before.

Tasmo hates dry dog food and will starve himself for a day or two to keep from having to eat it. In the end, I always win though, because I know he'll eat it eventually (and he's healthy and young enough to not worry about when he doesn't want to eat). He will only accept soft treats, and that is if they are in tiny bite size pieces. If I don't split them up, he drops them and walks away. So he's the picky eater of the house.

Yup, if you cater to them, they get picky. If you try this and that and keep trying, they just get worse. If they're hungry, they'll eat what is put down. The only dog I've catered to is Chulita, my Chihuahua. And that was only at certain times. When I left her with someone else for a week or so, she stopped eating because she had some serious seperation anxiety going on. I told the person who was caring for her to try some eggs, cottage cheese or broth on top of her food because the last time that happened, she nearly died from not eating for 3 days and got hypoglycemic. So if she ever does have a time where she doesn't eat, after a couple of meals skipped, I'll cater to her. But normally, she eats just fine what I give her. But a bigger dog isn't likely to get hypoglycemia too easily. It's these tiny Chihuahuas.

Of all the dogs I've had, I have never had a picky eater. They would eat ANYTHING! Even Delsi, my Chihuahua, will eat anything at all. Never picky.
I would just stick to what Sox will eat. I'm sure the cat food has all that's necessary in it. As long as she is healthy, that's all that matters.
