Lucky 3-17-06 to 7-16-06
He was my favorite boy from the moment he was born. I held his little body in my hands and he was bleeding as his mama had cut his umbilical cord a little too close.
At 5 in the morning I paced back and forth holding a cloth to his tiny little belly. Praying. with in moments he had stopped bleeding and was crying for his mama. Looking for his first meal as a full fledge dog. We called him Lucky...our Lucky Charm. Born on St. Patty's day. As he grew we knew he was special, he blossomed into an incredible little boy so full of life and so full of himself. Early on we decided he needed to be shown and as I had his mother here and intact we decided it was best to place him with a very trusted friend who also shows Rat Terriers. He went home with her at 10 weeks old and LOVED life on the ranch in UT. On Sunday morning when the 16 year old who had become his best friend went to let him out of his crate, he did not respond to her. He was gone. Our Lucky boy who filled us with such hope and love from the moment he was born. My boy, on this earth because of me. Gone for reasons I do not yet know. We grieve for you Lucky, we will always think of you, miss you and remember you and love your sweet face. Forever smelling your innocent puppy breath. |

OMGosh... I'm so sorry Trinity! That must be painful to not know what caused this little boys death. Wow... and to think we were looking at little puppy pictures not that long ago, and his first born pictures. Hopefully he passed peacefully in his sleep...
May you rest in peace Lucky. We all adored seeing your pictures, and see you for the very first time on this earth. May you bless Trinity and your family with lots of love and luck down the road. |

Sarah my dear girl. You filled my heart in one fell swoop with warmth, filled my eyes with tears.....
Thank You, thank you all for your kind words. I never thought it would be so therapeutic to post......I had been walking around like a zombie for the past 24 hours. I was unsure how to deal with it. My daughter and husband cried right away...I did not. I felt heavy, defeated and lost. Until I posted tonight. Then I cried...and cried. Then I talked to my husband about my post and cried so hard I could no longer speak. And now, I come back to read the posts from my friends.....and miss Sarah has written some of the most meaningful words to me that any one has ever written. You make such a difference. Thank you all so very much. |

Poor little lucky, such a little darling, I dont know what to say except I feel your grief and wish I could lift it for you. |

My heartfelt condoleances on the loss of your dear Lucky. One can never truly understand why these things happened , we can only treasure the short time he was with us...sometimes and angel's stay on earth is too short.
RIP little one. |

A Bridge Called Love
It takes us back to brighter years, to happier sunlit days and to precious moments that will be with us always. And these fond recollections are treasured in the heart to bring us always close to those from whom we had to part. There is a bridge of memories from earth to Heaven above... It keeps our dear ones near us It's the bridge that we call love. Author Unknown ----------------------------------------------- Your Pets In Heaven by Ken D. Conover To have loved and then said farewell, is better than to have never loved at all. For all of the times that you have stooped and touched my head, fed me my favorite treat and returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you. For the care that you gave to me so unselfishly. For all of these things I am grateful and thankful. I ask that you not grieve for the loss, but rejoice in the fact that we lived, loved and touched each others lives. My life was fuller because you were there, not as a master/owner, but as my FRIEND. Today I am as I was in my youth. The grass is always green, butterflies flit among the flowers and the Sun shines gently down upon all of God's creatures. I can run, jump, play and do all of the things that I did in my youth. There is no sickness, no aching joints and no regrets and no aging. We await the arrival of our lifelong companions and know that togetherness is forever. You live in our hearts as we do in yours. Companions such as you are so rare and unique. Don't hold the love that you have within yourself. Give it to another like me and then I will live forever. For love never really dies, and you are loved and missed as surely as we are. Your Pets In Heaven |

I am so sorry! As I sit here feeling upset and depressed myself, I can only imagine how YOU must feel.
My heart goes out to you and everyone else who was blessed to have Lucky as a part of their lives (and of courses the little man himself). Big hugs from me and the gang! ![]() |
