Update--Hubby's dream come true..

Well what can I say---it's been awhile and SO much has happened---Good and BAD---I really don't want to get into the bad as it is very upsetting but the good is GOOD....

Hubby has wanted a Bulldog for SOOOOOOOO long that it isn't even funny--well he finally got his wish on Easter weekend--The friday before Easter we picked up the newest addition to our growing family--DOZER--he is a brindle and white *now almost 17wk old* bulldog puppy from a local breeder here--His mom and dad are both Champs in the show ring and have had all health testing etc etc.. HE came from a great breeder that I have known and had contact with for a bit over two years....I was even there when Dozer came into this world during a C Section on Dec. 29th 2005---He was the only surviving male in the litter--He was a show prospect BUT has a condition called Hemivertebra *which is where one of the bones in his spine does not form normally like the others* Since he has this condition he was placed in a Pet home although the breeder was very upset about this as he really wanted him for show but it makes for a very happy hubby in my house...The condition he has could cause problems down the road but he doesn't have a very severe case and is doing GREATTTTTT...and let me tell you he is spoiled already....Harley adores him and thinks he is his mom for some reason--maybe he knows he has something wrong or it could be just Harleys health...

Update on Harley--we are unforn. seriously considering having Harley PTS--his health is really going down hill and he is at a point that he doesn't seem to enjoy things he used to as much any more--We are having an EKG done as after 10-20 mins of play he is totally out of breath to the point of passing out and it takes him OVER an hour to actually catch his breath and relax---he is still throwing up and is now not wanting to go outside to go potty *he doesn't go in the house though* but its a chore getting him to get up and go out--this is KILLING me as Harley is my baby--and Im sure some of you that know me know that he is my life *other then my hubby and kids* I have had him since he was a pup and this is going to be a long and hard choice that I have to make--I don't want him to suffer but Im having a very hard time letting go--After losing Chevy last year this is the last thing I thought I would have to do.....

All the pups that I placed are doing great--all happy and health in their new homes and settled in great--

Now on to the other bad news---MJ was PTS--unforn for everyone involved she attacked myself and a family friend--I felt and still feel like an idiot for not believing the previous owner that she was aggressive--I tried everything I could but after the vet looked her over he felt it was best to have her PTS so that this didn't happen again--It really upset me and I still feel stupid for not listening BUT she seemed so sweet at first.. I had problems with her before the attack but thought I could work with it--Unforn. this would have been a HUGE liability to keep her in our home--I kick myself everyday that this happened and feel that I some how failed her and myself be letting this happen in the first place....:

I have also decided to not foster any longer--Harley's health is a major concern and my top priority at this time and with Dozer and his back issue *although it is not bad at all* We don't want to take a chance..that and after MJ I remembered how hard it is to be wrong and have to do whats right although it is so hard to do--I will cont. to help rescues etc but no longer at least at this time foster.....

Sorry it took me so long to update but with Harley and MJ its been hard....I hope everyone understands and that everyone and their furkids are doing great...

I will try to post pictures soon and Dozer and Harley together as soon as I get the chance and will update on Harleys EKG when we get the results back.. He is also getting bloodwork ran again....

Boy, your so right about bad news and good news. Goodness!! You must be on a REALLY big roller coaster! Well, first off I'm so very sorry for your loss and what everyone and Harley are going thru right now and I wish you all the very best and prayers.
Second, congrats on your new boy. Will be waiting to see baby pictures, and I hope his condition won't get any worse.

Thank you for the support--Harley went in Sat and we did blood work which is pending until Monday....We also did X-rays which Unforn. show that he has an enlarged heart.. I'm scared to death to see what the blood work shows...I have been on such a roller coaster ride the last year or so with the dogs and fosters that I just am at a loss for words or anything else for that matter right now.. I'm wondering if this is why Harley is getting along with Dozer and why he got along with MJ *because he just doesn't have the energy to mess with it* Because before now he didn't do to well with other dogs we brought in the house unless it was another boxer...I have no idea.. I just hope he is around for alot longer because I'm not sure what I would do with out him....
