Has anything happened (that you can think of) that might have caused this? A loud noise when he was present, or anything?
When you say scared, what type of behavior is he showing? |

Puppies or dogs never "just" become scared of anyone unless something happen to to make them that way. Maybe he dropped something that made a loud bang, or accidently shut a door on him. It could be any number of reasons. Your boyfriend will now have to work on regaining trust from the dog.
