Throwing up in the kennel

This morning, he wasn't whining or crying but I heard him heaving. I went to check on him and he had thrown up. Now, he hadn't had breakfast yet because this was like 5 in the morning.
Should I be worried?

Did he finally get to eat breakfast? Has there been any more vomitting or any unusual behavior?

Your best bet is to always check with your vet, but sometimes it's not always necessary.

He may have been a bit upset, or because he was hungry. If mine get too hungry before they eat, they throw up... but it's mostly bile (yellow). I think as long as there hasn't been anymore vomitting, I wouldn't be concerned. But if you feel worried then calling your vet won't hurt!

Well he did eat his breakfast right after I let him out.
Like you said its only bile...and he's not showing any other signs.
However, when we go outside to potty or for our walks he tends to eat the grass and leaves. I catch him most of the time and take it out of his mouth, but sometimes he's just too quick. Could that be upsetting his stomach?

This is the conclusion I have come to about grass (leaves are slightly different depending on what type they are)...

If you do not allow your dog to eat grass and then they do they will throw up, if you allow your dog to eat grass (ming do about everyday) it usually will not make their stomach upset. It is like giving a dog that never gets table scraps some. Our bodies do the same thing.

I would keep a dog away from leaves if possible simple because I can see them as much more likely to do damage to your dogs insides then grass.

Makes sure he gets plenty of water, and if it continues see your vet.

He always gets plenty of water he always seems to be at his water dish. Its funny though because he won't drink out of his own water dish but in fact drinks out of the cats water dishes all the time. I think he does it to make them mad. He does drink out of his own but only when its his only option. Its kinda funny watching my cats stare at him as he drinks their water. I should just get one of those non-stop dishes.
I will watch the leaves. The leaves he sometimes just likes to hold in his mouth not all the time will he eat them.

My dogs eat grass also. Sometimes they throw it up, sometimes they don't. I've heard they eat to calm an upset tummy or to get their "vegetable" for the day.

How old is your pup? If he was overly upset about still being in the crate he may have inadverdantly made himself sick.

My pup is 9 weeks old. We have been crate training him for only about a week now since we brought him home.
He goes in no problem sometimes without coaxing, he wimpers for like 5 mins and then he's sleeping.
We've been pretty blessed with a lot of issues that don't seem to be a problem with him.
I guess I will just keep a watch on the throwing up and if it gets worse I will call my vet. He has an appt this week to get his next set of vaccinations so I will mention it.

He looks like an angel while he's sleeping, but don't they all?
Have you posted any more photos of him?

In my house it's the opposite. The cat drinks the dogs' water, like it's different or something.

He is adorable though.....but I'm partial to cocker spaniels.

Grass is okay for them. It cleanses the digestive tract, but is also eaten to settle an upset tummy. Mine eat grass on a daily basis and very rarely throw it up. Only when they're feeling a bit on the crummy side.

We have one of the 3 gallon water containers that keeps water down constantly. Silly thing is that they prefer the toilet water, opposed to their own water. So we have to watch them and make sure the toilet seats are kept down! Blegh... don't know what it is about toilet water!
