Question Symptoms or Just Being A Puppy?

So since I'm a new puppy mommy at what point do you look at things as a possible symptom for something (diabetes or UTI, medical things and such) vs. just a puppy being a puppy?

I was quite concerned when my roommate brought up the fact that my dog could be diabetic because of how often she urinates. When I looked up the symptoms she only had 2 of the 5 and I called the vet and they didn't seem too concerned. But then whenever something happens I worry it could be a possible symptom for something else! I don't want to be so paranoid that I take her to the vet all the time when something like this pops up (especially since the visits aren't that cheep!) but I don't want to pass it off as just puppy behavior!

She's still PLENTY energetic, eats, keeps a healthy weight, drinks lots of water, urinates, poops, sleeps....

but at what point do you worry about symptoms vs. her just being a puppy?

How old is she? It could be just a puppy, but it could be a UTI, but I doubt it would be diabetes.

If she's peeing VERY frequently, or stopping a peeing while in the middle of something else (apparent lack of control), then I would recommend a urine sample be taken in for testing for UTI.

I agree with Spiritus however, if your that concerned and your vet didn't ease your mind then you can always have her tested. You'll know for sure that way but she honestly sounds like a happy lil' pup to me.

How often does she pee? Puppies do tend to pee a lot; when they wake up, after eating or drinking, while playing With their tiny bladders, everything makes them "go". What's the other symptom you were worried about? If you're still concerned, make an appointment with your vet. They'll understand

We all worry about our furbabies and have paranoid moments-
A few months after adopting Baxter chunks of fur started coming off of him. I called the vet's office worried that something was wrong. They explained that since he's part Cattle dog he was blowing his undercoat. I was embarrassed but we all chuckled about it and my worries were eased.

She does pee often but it's usually when she's playing or when we are on our walks. After eating/drinking and sleeping. The normal. But when she plays with my roomie's dog she will run out and pee a little and then run back in and continue to play. i think it's just because she's still being potty trained and she learning to go outside....and she's really good with that. Still little accidents here and there but i would say...we're a good 75% into it.

She's only 14 weeks old.
When i called the vet they said they weren't worried about diabeties but they would do a blood test to check her kidneys. We have to go into the vet in 2 weeks for her last set of shots so maybe i'll have them do that when we go in.

I just don't want to call the vet for everything...but i'm a paranoid person as it is...plus my roomie mentions when Emma doesn't do/react to things they way her dog did which adds to the paranoia at times.

Every dog's different. Sounds to me like she's doing fine.
