K..so I noticed one of the pups had a little rattle in it's chest yesterday morning. I wasn't real concerned until the day went on and i was keeping a close eye on him....I decieded to take him into the vet...just be be safe..." better safe then sorry". and i'm glad i did. The little guy had fluid in his lungs. So with a few injections of fluid to keep him hydrated..and one shot to break up the ick in his lungs..and some med. to give him twice a day....He now this morning is on the mend. I slept with him last night and he stayed curled up to my chest all night.
I could feel the rattle getting better by the hours. He slept...i didn't.lol. Now the rattle is barely noticable...but i'm still treating him. I didn't realize how attached I am to these puppies till one got a bit under the weather. The vet was actually teasin me a bit...about being the protective " human bitch " i've become..too funny. Well just thought I would share my scare! |

Whew! I am so glad you took him into the vet! Breeding is a ton of hard work and sometimes even harder decisions.
I am glad this baby is on the mend. How is Mom doing now? |

oh boy..it's been a long haul so far...ya know I never dreamed that I would be doing all of this. I am the kinda of person that can take on anything and do really well with it. When I tell my friends that I have 10 new puppies...they are like " ohhhhh Day-z had her babies"...and i'm like...." NO..Day-z had my babies". lol. She hasn't done anything to help out from the time she gave birth to them. I'm handling it really well. I am so lucky to be able to have the time to do it all. I'm lucky that my hubby and I own a business and it's next door to our home. I don't know how they would have lived if I had to go to work everyday. WOW. I thank God for the puppies and I will do anything and everything I can to make them great little Chessy's and Healthy.
THEN I'M TAKING A VACATION!!!...LOL I also want to say...that this site is so wonderful...I have learned so much from reading and from all the help and advise from others. Thanks so much. Those pups lives are in my hands..and thats a heavy weight to carry...but i'm much stronger then the weight. ~huge smile~ |

Glad that you noticed it, it's amazing how very quickly little ones can go downhill and without someone there to care for them properly it usually goes very badly. Thank you for being there for them and I'm glad to hear the little one is feeling better!

Glad to hear the pup is on the mend! Having a litter is very hard work. When my cat gave birth, she was an excellent mommy, but it was extremely hard when the one died minutes after birth, and two of them passed away a few weeks later. I cried for days. The two that I have left are my world. I'm so very attached to them and never plan on parting with them in any way. I'd give my life for them, and their mommy. Even though she has turned into a real witch (lol) she's still my baby.
You've done such a great job, and I'm glad you were open to our advice. Everyone is here to help. |
