Chi X min Pin puppies

I went with my sister to the hospital when she had sugrey, and left a friend in charge. I had asked her not to let my 2 dogs out at the same time since Honey was in heat(She is not spayed becouse she is being shwon and is on a breeders contract) Well she did, and Honey had puppies Tuesday, May 1st. Nike isn't fixed bewcouse the vet doesn't think he is in good enough health, he is 10.

My sister called the school Tuesday a little before 1 saying Honey was in labor. We got home at 1:10 and she had already had one, but it was born wrong and out of the sac.

We rushed her to the vet, got there at 1:15, they got the one out and everything. Honey was scared to death, and only wanted to be in my lap. SO I had to put on a scrub and covers, and about 30 mins later, she had the 1st one in my lap! It took a total of 5 hours for her to have her puppies. 4 in total, 3 boys and a girl. 2 of them were born backward, but are healthy.

Well sadly Thursday the runt died, so now there is 3 left, but they are doing fine. Honey had to go to the vet this morning becouse she was weak. She is now on a/d prescription food. Its alittle after midnight and she is doing fine now.

Before the pups:

I'm sorry to hear what your dog had to go through, but at least she is on the mend. Honey's pups are very gorgeous, as is she! Do you plan on keeping any of the pups?

It's a shame this happened, and I'm sorry about the pup that died. But I'm glad everything is relatively ok (hope the mum gets better) and the pups are just adorable.

About the male...ask the vet about chemical castration. It's an alternative to actual castration (no surgery involved) and although you have to continue to get treatments (although they're quite a few months apart) it can be effective in preventing things like this in the future.

Cass.

I'll ask about chemical castration, but I doubt they do it here. My town is small, about 2000 people and only about half who have dogs take them to the vet. But I will check.
Nike & Honey have been together for 2 years with no pups, but my friend also brought her male dog, who tried to get with Honey, she wouldn't let him, but she did Nike.

I'm hopeing the breeder will let me get her spayed, she is 5, and is pretty much retired from the show ring, and I don't think she should be bred again.

I'm keeping 1 puppy, Honey's breeder is buying one, so that leaves 1 to find a home for. Plenty of people want one, but Im very picky about where he or she will go.

I'm glad things are ok but sorry to hear about the pup that didn't make it.

Best of luck with finding a fantastic forever home for the third pup - they are all beautiful.

Why would the breeder want one, they are mutts, not show or breeding material.
I am glad she is ok, and the pups are fine
I definetly would have mommy spayed as soon as she is able to, do not want anymore accidents

I wondered that myself.

I hope Honey continues to do better. It would be a good idea to only let the pups go with a spay/nueter contract to ensure no more unplanned breeding (or planned ones, since these are mixed breeds) occur.

Thanks

The puppies will be on spay/nueter contract. The breeder wants one becouse she doesnt breed any more, due to her back, but Honey was one of her fave dogs, and so she wants a puppy, it doesnt matter to her if its pure or not.
