Hello. Today we brought Ailchu home! It was a very long day and I now am the proud owner of a very sleepy Akbash puppy! Our first day went pretty smoothly. He went to the bathroom twice outside and only had one accident inside, which was my fault, not his. My Bear dog loves him, but zoe, well, she's ignored him the whole day. Not sure what to make of that. He took to his crate right away, walking in by himself and lying down, he whimpered a little but then went to sleep. Basically that's it, he chews his toys a little then falls asleep. Pictures coming soon.

What a good puppy. I, too, am looking forward to pictures. I'd like to see him next to something (a chair, coffee table, ottoman) to compare his size.

I've never heard of the breed, so I looked it up. What a *beautiful* animal. How did you find the name you gave him?

Today we went to the dog park, we didn't stay long because I didn't want to tire him out. I was surprised how well he did on his leash.

All right, here are a few pictures my sis and I took. I tried to find a picture with something in it to compare him to, but the best I could find was one with him sprawled under a tv tray. Enjoy!

I found it just searching the net. It's Irish for gentle hound. It's pronounced "EL khu".

I hope so. It just seems to me a really strange reaction. She won't look at him, and whenever he is brought into the room, she runs away!

Oh My Word, what a *darling* puppy. Thanks for the pics. I can see how big he is already by how his head fits in a hand. He looks like a white version of my friends' Bernese Mountain Dogs, and they are just the cuddliest, sweetest dogs. So soft. I surely wish you all the best with him.
