Sleepy puppy
We just got our 7 week old German Shepherd puppy. He sleeps geand sleeps and sleeps. I am just wondering if this is typical due to his young age? Could this be and indication that he is very mellow in temperment? I have had other GSD but it has been a long time and I can't remember their activity level at puppy age of 7 wks.

I remember Bailey and Lucy sleeping twice as long as they played. If Lucy plays hard for one hour she naps for two. If she plays really hard for two hours she will nap for almost four. LOL As she gets older it switches and she can play longer than she sleeps and I get no naps...

Puppies take frequent naps, but just make sure he isn't missing any meals. They need to eat several small meals a day and nutri-cal is an excellent vitamin that is gel-like in a tube.

When I brought Nashoba home he was 9 1/2 weeks--GSD--he slept a lot that first week and then he woke up!!!! Now he plays and goes all the time. When he does lie down to sleep I tell my boyfriend he is just reenergizing and getting ready for the next round!!!! Minta
