Hi I have just bought a new Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Blue/Fawn brindle female puppy.
When i went to see the breeder again the puppy had a little bump on its tail, nothing is visiable from the outside but when you rub your hand along the tail you can feel it. I asked her what this was she said maybe one of the other puppies may have biten it and it should go down. I would like to know what you think this may be and is she telling the truth and not a defect? Please help as i would like to know before i commit my self to this puppy so i know of any health propblems or defects. Thank You in advance. |

Best thing to do is to take the pup to a vet and have it checked out. The breeder should want to know what it is too, if they kick up a stink about taking the pup to the vet I'd avoid that breeder altogether and find someone else. Because if they don't want the pup checked out for something that could be quite minor, do you really think they had the parents checked out with a vet for major genetic problems? A breeder's first priority should be the health and well being of their dogs and pups.
However, assuming this breeder is reputable...they shouldn't have a problem with you seeking the opinion of a vet and it's very smart of you to be curious about this, so good on you for asking about it. ![]() The pup is gorgeous by the way. ![]() Cass. |

She is adorable!
I think if you are concerned (which is completely understandable), I'd take Cass's and Kym's advice. Ask if you can get her vet-checked, and ask for references from others who have bought from this breeder before. |

Thanks for all your comments, the vet said it nothing to worry about and should go down in time, however if it may not go down fully, if i were to show her it may be seen as a fault.
However i have decided to keep her regardless and here is some up to date pictures, she is now 7 weeks. ![]() |
