Unhappy my puppy has worms i think!! what can i do for him???????

my chichuaha puppy is 16 weeks old and has been very ill for the last 3 dys. He has lost alot of weight and is very weak and sleepy. he wont drink water or eat anything.. So i have to bottle him water and feed him by hand. On monday he just got his second parvo shot. Since Tuesday night he has been ill and Yesterday we just gave him his first worming medicine ever. So i think he has worms cause i found poop with tiny rice like worms on it. He is cold and looks like he is going to die. And taking him to the vet costs way too much. If he does have worms what can i do to help him get better at home and what other medicines can i get at the store that can help him eat and get over this sicky illness?.. he does not have diarreah.. and when he pees its orange/dark yellowish.. and he just sleeps and can barely stand up on his own. he seems to be doing better then he goes bad again. I heard corn syurp is good to give them to wake up puppies but what else can i do? Thank you soo much.

please email at ::Mod edit - Please don't post personal email addresses on the forum:: thanks sooooo much!!!

Please take your puppy to the vet. We are not vets and can't help you. He might die without medical treatment so please take him in.

See if you can work out a payment plan with your vet. We have no way of knowing what is wrong with your pup and if it is worms it may have progressed so far he needs medical treatment, not home remedies. Vet visits do cost money, but that is part of the price of owning a dog. If you can't afford treatment, please relinquish the puppy to a rescue that can - it could very well die without treatment.

I agree, you need to take him to a vet. You shouldn't have gotten a puppy if you are unable or unwilling to take proper care of it. Store brand wormers don't cover all worms, to effectively get rid of them, you need to take a stool sample to the vet, have it examined and have meds prescribed that will deal with the problem. It cost me a whole $30 Canadian each to have my female checked and given meds. Your dog is also a Chi, so the meds won't be as much since they are prescribed by weight. My girl is an 85lb Rottweiler, so the amount of meds needed was a lot higher than your dog will need.

Puppies often don't cut it with just one deworming either. In my experience, all the puppies I've ever owned needed at least 2 sets of worming meds before they began teething.

I agree too...no time should be wasted waiting for answers on a forum, your Chihuahua should be taken to the vet immediately.

Cass.

He's either dehydrated or has a very serious health issue, please call your vet and get him care ASAP.

Please don't give corn syrup, please take him to the vet and get fluids and an evaluation.

About worms, you really need your dog stable to properly worm, please again get help especially since you say the pup is weak and obviously sick. If you don't have the money to take your puppy to the vet, please contact your breeder or local rescue organization who can help you care for your pup.

Take your pup to the vet ASAP!! No matter what it costs, you shouldn't put your pup's life at risk by not providing him with veterinary care. We can't tell you what's wrong with your pup, but your vet most definitely can. Please, don't put the vet visit off any longer!

I just took my new puppy to the vet and a de-worming pill cost 30 dollars...she got sick from the pill, but was never that sick. I agree with everyone else...the vet's a must.

I am a strong believer in "If you can't afford the vet, you can't afford the pet", please take your puppy to the vet!
