Question shot reaction BAD

my puppy got her shots friday(the only reason y it took me so long is because my moms friend told me that she already had her shots but gave me not proof.) any ways she had a very BAD reaction to it. her nose got all swollen and she could barely see. did any ones pup have this type of reaction to their shots? i got sooo ticked when this happend. well tell me if this sounds familular to a case that you have exsperianced.

Yes, you need to let the vet know so they can file a report with the proper authorities. They need to keep track of reactions for statistical purposes and to determine if the risk now outweighs the benefits.
Some dogs do have an adverse reaction to vaccinations just like some children do. Talk over with your vet about how you should proceed from here on out with vaccinations.
I hope your pup is going to be ok.

My parents oldest pug has had a reaction to shots before. Now she gets her shots at seperate times and stays at the vets for a little bit...your vet can give your pet something to stop the reaction before the shot as well and Benadryl works as well; however ask you Vet how much you puppy she be able to have and what type before trying to give her any....

Dachshunds are known for having reactions to shots. Your pup might have a reaction to every shot so you have to stay near the vet office for at least an hour just in case. The vet will give your pup two shots to help bring the swelling down. One of the shots is benodryl and I don't remember what the other shot is.
Both of my dachshunds had reactions to their shots. My baby, Lucy had the worst reactions. After the doctor gave her the shots to reverse the reaction he told me to buy benodryl (pill form) and cut them into 1/4 pieces (this makes them really tiny) and give one to Lucy every 3 hours for 24 hours.

Make sure your doctor puts comments in your puppy's record so any doctor that gives her a shot will know about her reactions and start her on benodryl before the shot.

Barrett gave you great info and the only thing I would add is that you should never give benadryl without first checking with a qualified veterinarian. Yes, there are times when benadryl can come in handy but without knowing how compromised the airway may be benadryl may not do the trick and can actually have an adverse reaction to other drugs that may need to be given by the vet.
