Stupid breeders...

Well you might have read in another thread where my aunt was feeding her Miniature Pinscher puppy canned dog food? Well I am verry appauled but I learned today from my mom which she didn't mention before but the puppy had a bandage on his tail and when she asked why she said it was because his tail was docked recently by the breeder (her fiance's father). WTF Puppies tails are supposed to be docked when they are tiny and 2-4 days old right? I can't imagine how painful it was for the poor little guy to have his tail cut off at 6-8 weeks old. I also think she got him when he was 6 weeks old instead of 8 weeks. I am very mad and feel sorry for this puppy. I hope he grows up well adjusted and doesn't have any behavioral problems. She is also trying to save up the money to get his ears cropped.

I wonder if you can call the local USDA, Ag department or Animal control to inquire about the laws pertaining to breeders in your area plus how they are enforced including penaties. Then you can hand over the information to the breeder incase they are misinformed. If the penalties and laws are like ours in CA it might give them reason enough to change their ways. Plus one of their customers might report them if they have any problems, so they might appreciate the information....never know.

That is horrible. There is a reason puppies have their tails docked so young. Ugh. I hope the poor pup isn't going to be feeling any phantom pains because of the late dock.

Oh my gods! That's shocking!! And I would think that qualifies as animal cruelty. I'd call the RSPCA, Human Society, SPCA or what ever it is you have and report the breeder immediately!
