help!! pup not being feed by mom

hey all./ i'm new here. i was just given two pups tht are either 4 wks or a lil younger by a few days. the mom just pushes em away and one of the pups has already died. the mom has no interest in the pups at all. i have pup formula but i was wondering if there was a home made formula tht has more nutrients in it and i think they are low on ron too cause they came to me loaded with fleas!!!

If one pup has already died, their 4 weeks or less and loaded with fleas one of the very first things that needs to be done is to have them examined by a vet. This is done for several reason but the top reasons are dehydration and enemia from the flea bites.

There are a few different things you can give the pups rather than the "canned" puppy formula and I'd be happy to give you the recipe I use if your interested.

I don't have AIM but have PM'ed you with the formula but if the pups are going on 4 weeks there should be no reason why they can eat a puppy food soaked until moist and if needed smashed into a paste.

I had a cat in the same situation. What I had to do over the weekend till he could see the vet is take a towel and spray a watered down flea spray into it. Then rubb it on him. It took off enough fleas to sustain him till I could get him into a vet. Of course I don't recommend doing this unless you have the ok from your vet. I work for a chemist that makes the flea sp so I had the advantage of his knowledge and the vets ok.

For abandoned pups I use to take bread and break it up along with milk and a little sugar. Let it soak and they ate it just fine.
