Potty training

I am in the process of potty training my 12 week chocolate lab puppy. During the day when I am at work he is stays in his crate and when my husband gets home takes him out to potty. My question is on the weekend when I am home I take him out to potty first thing in the morning. After playing with him for about an hour and half should I put him back in his crate or leave him in the backyard for a couple of hours while I clean?

Your advice will be very helpful

Thank You

I wouldn't leave a young pup unsupervised at all....ever. There's too much they can get into and ruin or get hurt by. After he's played and gone to the bathroom, if you can't watch him, I would recommend putting him in his crate for a little while. I remember doing that or having my pup follow me around while I did my chores. It wasn't easy to get things done very well, having to keep stopping and making sure he wasn't getting something or having to take something from him and giving him a suitable toy, but that's the way it goes with a pup....kind of like having a toddler baby in the house again. Good luck!

Thank you for the information. I will make sure that my puppy is in his crate while I am doing chores.

I put Harley in his crate when I need to clean as well. He is small so I have to be very careful not to step on the little guy
